more correctly, no goal scored - so a SCF game wasn't decided on a call resulting from a ridiculous, brutal dive

I don't think it was that big a dive. Embellished after the fact, absolutely. But Carter tripped/slew-footed him.

At least that's what I saw in the replay. I thought it was a dive at first. Maybe a gif would help to be sure..

With how often both teams are missing the net the scoring chances are likely higher than the actual shots

But if a goalie is indeed hit in the head, I don't think anyone should call for embellishment

The Carter play was definitely a penalty. I'm not sure why Lundqvist needed to flop around like he had a concussion though.

If it's a legitimate penalty like a high stick or hit to the head, I don't mind a little embellishment to make sure the refs notice since they miss so many blatant calls. And in Lundqvist's case more so because he got screwed so hard on that 3rd goal

I'm not sure I saw a hit to head in the replays I watched. Definite contact, a bit of flopping, and penalty though.

Yeah that third goal shouldn't have counted as the King was fully in the crease before the puck got there. That's the biggie for me, but I don't like to see embellishing going the other way as payback, if that was the case.

Upon replay, again, I thought Lundqvist did get a glancing blow to the head as Carter went around the net. Seemed like it was that but maybe also did a sell job which most goalies at this stage would to get the call IMO.

In short a hit to the head on the goalie should be a penalty and embellishment isn't encouraged from my part, I could see why a goalie would do it there.

Glad I stocked the beer from game one's short overtime. Fresh pizza here for the fifth period. Triple overtime perhaps?

I've heard more about Marty St. Louis in the last 90 minutes than the rest of my life combined. Good grief.

Yeah maybe I didn't see it right, as I only saw the one replay. Definite contact tho.
