I'm pumped, but I have to say... For a "gameplay" trailer there wasn't all that much gameplay. Unless that is how the gameplay will actually look, in which case I think I may need a new change of shorts.

um that was a relatively useless video. Sort of dumb to call it a gameplay series video when there wasn't a single game play clip in there other than slow motion highlight/replay, and most of it was about the jersey impact on puck physics

Can the EA guys really be that far away from their fan base to not realize what their fans care about and need to see in the game?

anyways, whatever they've shown so far looks good, unfortunately, whatever they've shown has little to no value to me as a loyal, 'buy every single year' customer. Looking forward to the upcoming videos.

i still need to figure out if i'm buying next gen for this or not.

^^Agreed. Yes, things look good but nothing looks to be a representation of what we might experience during playing the actual game. And nothing that points to a big leap from previous generation. We probably won't see a sniff of real gameplay until its closer to release time and they've racked up some pre-orders already. I think the "next gen" jump will be the most minimal we've ever seen in the series.

Yup, I think the way they are releasing the info, this will really be a graphics improvement with limited actual gameplay or mode (be a gm as an example) improvement.

Check out the animation glitching on Karlsson's stomach around the 0:35 mark.

I'm really excited about new goal celebrations, I hope I can still dive headfirst into the boards though. That's my favourite one.

That's the only one I can do, and I don't do it on purpose. It's a function of button mashing

I just stand in front of the net all day hoping for a rebound...I end up just pointing at the net a lot

I have very high hopes for NHL FIFA and Madden 15. I expect to be disappointed with as many as 2 of those 3, but, you know the saying 1 outta 3 aint bad.

Seriously tho lots of promise here. September could be pretty awesome

Any info on if they are planning on revamping EASHL, menu systems or removing pause features? Also any info if you get XP for every game now? Drove me nuts how you'd play a game and not get any credit due to other people quitting

I thought it was mentioned somewhere the menu was re-done in line with FIFA or something.

i really like the new ea menus, and someone at operation sports has mentioned that this is the case with the NHL series.

i played madden 25 last night and i wasnt actually quite as disappointed with it as i was expecting. im expecting better polish and better graphics for a ps4 of course, but there was a definite improvement. the game felt very stale though, which probably speaks to my years and years of playing NCAA. Hopefully there's some new fun stuff in Madden and better gameplay to draw me back.

I am excited for NHL15 on the new consoles..... I was really excited for NCAA Football for them too but alas... no NCAA football game. I guess I will just double my expectations for NHL.

What is the bonus for pre-order this year?

Also, has there been any mention to changing any hut menu's or auction system?
Its frustrating how you have to scroll from 0 - however many pucks it cost to bid on a card. It would be much more simple to just enter the value of pucks you want to spend or how much you are putting a card up for autction.

Not sure if posted, but here's Sports Illustrated talking about this year's game.

Quote:
I consider NHL 14 one of the finest video games I’ve ever played. From the fast-pace, to the crushing hits, to the slick stick handling, it really wasn’t difficult to see why IGN described the game as “the hardest hitting, most enjoyably violent hockey game [they’ve] played.” While there were some minor quirks that needed fixing, I wasn’t quite sure how the game could be significantly improved upon for next-gen consoles.

And then I played NHL 15.

nice read, can't help but get excited, and hope that even though the list of new features/enhancements aren't long, the impact of the few are great.
