Out of Bennett, Draisaitl and Dal Colle, who ranks the consensus highest in hockey IQ? All three are awesome players, and our scouting staff seem to value this characteristic very highly given the last few drafts.
I just saw Draisaitl play. He has SIZE, and he plays Center. He toe dragged an opposing defenceman so hard that the guy's skate blades blew off. Then he did a sick celly. It was a Bow and Arrow, followed by a windmill followed by a jump into the glass. The crowd went crazy. A girl threw her panties ... another threw her vagina, a guy threw his panties too (which, granted, was a little odd). Did I mention SIZE.
We need him

If Florida takes Reinhart or Bennett I expect the oilers to end up with Eckblad.
That's the point - and a risk we face.
If Florida takes one of the Sam's, Buffalo probably takes the other one and Edmonton takes Ekblad.
So if Florida does that, we need to trade up with Buffalo. They should be willing because they would likely end up with the same player anyway (we take Ekblad and the Oilers take Draisaitl, leaving the second Sam to Buffalo)
So he passed up an easy empty net shot to wait for the defenseman to catch up so he could toe-drag and then score? Lame. Super lame.
I won't judge a prospect on one play like that, but that was pure garbage.
It's junior, that's a junior move. That's the type of thing you weed out of a young players game as you develop him. Don't sully a prospect because he still does junior crap in junior.

Lets just all take a moment to remember how much #### went our way the last weekend for us to even be in the mix.
Loss to an awful Winnipeg team, loss to an awful Canucks team trying to get their coach fired. Three Islanders wins in a row including two in extra time, with one of them being a comeback from two goals down.
Even me, one of the most pessimistic posters here, thinks that the sun may be shining on us for this draft. We've cleared two hurdles in the positioning and the lottery, I think the draft leaves us happy.

Just a thought, If Ritchie was highly prized by management, could we not just potentially trade for another 1st round pick in the vicinity of the 7th to 10th overall (Carolina, Toronto, Winnipeg, Anaheim).
To be clear, I am not proposing to trade down. I'm proposing to acquire another pick. What would it take?
