At least you can watch some of this game. The PHI-NYR game tomorrow isn't even going to be televised in Canada because of the Raptors game.

Most here were pretty upset when Chicago took out Brendan Morrison's knee and their bench chirped at him as he hobbled off the ice. That was low.
As much as a DB that Backes is, Keith's comments were far lower. No doubt he was the ring leader when Morrison was hurt. I dislike both teams, but Chicago takes the cake on this one. Not to mention his dumbass stick work. What an idiot.

Friedman and Stock seemed to think the comments weren't a big deal and that much worse is said. Perhaps they are correct that the solution to people being bothered by on-ice dialogue is to reduce the volume of sound at the ice level.

Im telling you flat out....thats how it is, has been and always will be. The fact you arent aware of that is no surprise to me however....but regardless it would stun many what gets said in the heat of the game. That "wakie wakie" bit is nothing at all in comparison.

It's part of the social agreement you make when you step on the ice.
I don't have too much trouble with it because it doesn't drastically alter my perception of a player, but perhaps that is part of the reason some people are having such a negative reaction to it.

It sucks that he said it after a vicious hit, but don't kid yourself much much worse is said on the ice. If you have ever competed and something is on the line in heated moments when emotions are running high you say some nasty things.

Um you said you were surprised people were calling it classless. If that's not defending it then what is it? Just because it's the norm doesn't make it right but no surprise you are defending that garbage.

God no. If people are really bothered by the on ice dialogue then they can watch their tv on mute and not ruin the awesomeness of the crowd noise for everyone else.
