Didn't even have to sweat it out. Bigger games have been their kryptonite though; they can look great this week and then stink out the joint no matter who they are facing next week or in the Super Bowl.

The better team won tonight, plain and simple. Full marks to New England on the win. The Colts weakness is stopping the run and NE took advantage of that tonight for sure. Huge game by Blount. Colts will be back in the playoffs next year and it will be nice to have Reggie back.
Rooting for Denver now for sure. Hopefully they don't mess up against the Chargers tomorrow.

Sort of hope the Chargers win so the Pats have an easier path to the Super Bowl. Not sure they'd beat the Niners or Seahawks though (at least it won't be the Giants).

You should definitely be rooting for the Chargers. NE would have home field then against San Diego. If Denver wins tomorrow you have to go to Mile High and that would way tougher with the best offense in NFL history.
I think NE would get to the Superbowl if the Chargers win tomorrow, but the Broncos would if they win tomorrow.

Yeah the Patriots are a well oiled machine but they are so hard to like and watch. They are the New Jersey Devils of football and don't play an exciting variety of football as it's run and dink and dunk but it's very effective and you can't argue with the results.

2014 NFL Playoffs Thread
Blount was an absolute force out there tonight and once again my boy Brady shows that he still knows how to win. Go chargers tomorrow!

Coach should be fired for that call. Seriously.
Down three scores, in a playoff game, in the fourth quarter, punting on 4th and 1?
If I was In charge, that would be the last down that the coach ever coached for my team.

well morning after Im still pretty stunned how dominant the Pats were last night. Blount and Collins were an absolute force again. Seems as though BB has the Colts number in game planning.
Go Chargers!

No question it was a mismatch.
But....its also become very apparent that the Colts are not a very good football team as of late. Surrendeing 87 pts in 2 playoff games is, frankly, horrendous. And thats against a couple average/slightly above offenses based on regular season numbers.
Luck himself has some troubling playoff numbers as well....though with his age and skillset that will get better as he moves forward without a doubt.
Im just not completely sold that NE is a juggernaut once more, but more a product of weak opposition,.

In two post season games the Colts had 60% as many turnovers as it had in 16 regular season games (8 and 14). Amazing that they were in both games into the 4th quarter and even won one.

Pretty cool anthem right there....more teams should take note. Simple, beautiful and no wanna be diva trying to re-invent the wheel with it.

Really? Are you referring only to the inflated results of last night or the Pats generally speaking?

Horrid call on Carolina for that unnecessary roughing call. Luke Keuchly is a player though.

Yes, really.
The Colts are not a very good football team right now...as evidenced by giving up 44 pts to KC at home last week, 43 last night, and Luck becoming a turnover machine all of a sudden....add to that they have surrendered almost a 1000 yds defensively the last 2 games and beating them like NE did last night is rather expected of any decent team.
They may be a great team again...but not because of anything seen last night.

Yup...thats the call that has me wondering why i bother watching this game anymore.
Football is becoming a shell of the game that made it so popular to begin with.

I for one am not completely sold on the Broncos yet. Sure they slaughtered a bunch of bad teams in the regular season, but their schedule was quite weak. They may have played in a division where three teams made the playoffs, but really the only top ten team in the league they beat was KC. They split against San Diego and beat an Eagles team early in the season that didn't have it all together yet. They lost both of their games against their only tougher teams (New England and Indianapolis). Home field advantage will be huge, but I think Denver loses to a lot of great teams on a neutral field.

That was textbook hit. Shoulder to shoulder, not targeting the head or leading with it. If you can't do that how can you play defence.

There is no doubt that they, on paper at least, are the weakest they have been im several years. Still, they have come away with some surprising victories this year. Im sure they will be seen as the weakest of the final 4.

The fact that Indianapolis is just not a very good team.
They arent at the level of any of the other remaining playoff teams and Luck, while good is nowhere near that quarterback thats been shoved down our throats the last 2 years... at least not yet.
