Sucks, but what a great run. Na was just too much today, man she's got a lot of power.
Her and Milos have a lot of Canadians (like me) excited about tennis again. That's a great thing.

Amazing considering her goal was to get to the top 20 by years end. Will likely be top 10 by Summer

Going to be a great season, 3 big players who I think will all win titles this season for canadian fans. Would be great to see another womens player break through and the fed cup team start making some noise. A 16 year old from montreal just won a 25k tournament this week, I think there are more coming.

commentators mentioned Genie's footspeed as needing some work, but I think it's more her anticipation that she'll be learning over the next couple years. Li was hitting hard enough to probably beat anybody, but still it looked like Genie was heading the wrong direction a large percentage of the time. dig up the Rafa video and look at how he never seems to get twisted around even when defending.
if Genie's game keeps developing at this pace though, can you imagine the panda-monium she'll generate by a deep run at Rogers Cup this year...especially after Milos' finals appearance last season? I wouldn't mind flipping/burning a car or two in her name.

Great stuff by Wawrinka. Having him play Federer would be a pretty epic moment for Switzerland and tennis as a whole. Federer has to get there first though.

Genie made $500K for the final four appearance. Seven figure endorsement deals must be on the table now. Her talent, good looks and charisma make her very marketable.

Come home from the bar and get to see the start of the Nadal/Federer match, why I will always love the Australian open, haha.

Nadal is both better than Federer and he's in his head as well. This really never was much of a rivalry in terms of being back and forth. Federer's longest win streak against Nadal is 2 and Nadal, assuming he finishes this, will have three seperate 5 match winning streaks. Djokovic-Nadal is a better rivalry in terms of competitiveness. Nadal is just a bad matchup for Federer.

I was pretty sure this wasn't gonna be worth staying up for and wow surprise i was right. Strangely it's the other Swiss guy that has a better chance of making an interesting match, but it's looking pretty much like #14 is going to Mallorca.

Nadal will probably get the major record by next year. I don't see Federer winning another one unless the draw breaks his way (i.e. he doesn't play Nadal or Djokovic), and Nadal probably has this one and two French's so he just needs one more somewhere in there.

Certainly looks not much is standing in the way of Rafa and the record especially now that we never seem to be talking about his knees anymore. what's bizarre is how the two guys that should be standing in his way, i.e. Nole and Murray, are both playing like they've already accomplished all their lifelong ambitions, and haven't been able to get anywhere close to their best recently.
Anyways, rankings on Monday:
https://mobile.twitter.com/Tennis/st...en_name=Tennis
Fed defends all his Aussie points from last year and drops to 8. Delpo, who lost so early I didn't even see him play climbs to 3...wtff?

yup Delpo only lost 45 points while Ferrer lost 260 and Murray lost 840
Wavrinka will gain a bunch of points and move ahead of Federer.
Djokovic lost 1680 points but he's so far ahead he retains his #2 spot.

Rafa dominated the majority of the match, can't wait for the final. However, I've heard the announcers make comments about the 1st and 2nd serve and how Nadal dominates on the 1st serve, what exactly is the 1st and 2nd serve? Is it when a player hits the net or misses on his first serve so he has to take a second serve?

^ You got it. At one point in the third set Nadal actually won more points off his second serve than his first, which is absolutely unheard of.

Yes. Getting the first serve in is crucial if you want to win your service games. Second serves are often weaker because the player is trying to prevent a second fault and giving the opponent a free point.
