Jankowski looking good for Providence tonight. Something is always happening when he's on the ice. I've also been impressed with his defensive coverage in his own zone. Obviously been schooled to collapse down low and help his defensemen out. He's been great on the faceoffs too.

Those are the kind of goals he needs to score more. The dirty greasy goals in the tough areas. They probably make up 75% of all goal scorers goals.

Janko probably should have had an assist on that nice drop pass.
He almost turned it over in the defensive zone earlier on the shift though.

That's as nice an empty netter as you're going to see. 2 goals for Janko.

Jankowski looks to be as tall as Gillies out there.
So much potential with these two!

Remember when the Flames were bashed for "reaching" on Poirier, whereas Columbus and Montreal were praised for taking Dano and McCarron?
Poirer (RW): QMJHL - 32 points in 20 games, +13
Dano (C): KHL - 2 points in 22 games, -10 (far lower pace than last season)
McCarron (RW): OHL - 6 points (1 goal) in 16 games, +1
Those stupid Flames.

Fun fact:
Klimchuk (24) has more points than Horvat (21) and Shinkaruk (10).
Poirier(32) has more points than both of them combined!

McCarron has not been good in London. They were counting on him to fill some of the lost offense and hasn't done much yet. It can take some time for these American guys to adapt to the CHL but he's really struggled.

To be fair, Klimchuk (19) has played more games than Horvat (15) and Shinkaruk (8).
PPG is a better measure this early on, and it's:
Klimchuk 1.26
Horvat 1.4
Shinkaruk 1.25
Nothing to shout from the rooftops about

Well, from that alone it looks like we took the best player available. Stats aren't everything, but it is very encouraging at least.
