Aeneas, do you need any help from any of us? You've helped countless people here, from everything I've read. I'll drive in and lend a hand - just say the word.
Was just over at Millarville Racetrack. Flooding over at this hour. Buildings are sandbagged and dry as far as I know but the entrance and parts of the grounds are flooding.
Racetrack Road to Black Diamond is closed from Highway 549. They dug up Highway 22 at Black Diamond where Racetrack emerges to let floodwaters through.

So my dad left from Revelstoke this morning to come to Calgary but I guess the TransCanada is closed between Canmore and Banff. I'm having trouble finding out if there's been any sort of detour and now I hear Highway 2 is closed south of High River and Highway 3 might be closing in Crowsnest Pass.
Of course, he doesn't have a cell phone and I have no idea where he is.

He might want to hole up in Golden, or go back to Revelstoke. Or he might be sleeping in his vehicle, at the rate things are going - thinking the motel rooms are filling up fast in Golden. He might be able to go down to Radium from Golden and find something there - if you do eventually hear from him and he gets stuck doing driving to Radium, tell him to go to the Big Horn Motel - ain't fancy, but it's really clean and reasonable and Bill & Angela are excellent hosts.

Isn't the Transcanada closed from Canmore to Calgary? There are lots of places to stay but it might take a while for cars to get through.
Just got back from a walk over to the Glenmore dam. The guy there said they flow rate is open 65% (not sure how unusual that is) and that they expect the water to crest the dam by 9 pm.

From what I have heard:
Highway 1 is closed.
Highway 1A is closed.
Highway 3 is in horrible shape and will probably be closed.
Highway 93 is closed.
Honestly, from Revelstoke there is no good way in to Alberta at the moment. The only way to go, as far as I can tell, would be to go west from Revelstoke to Highway 5, north to highway 16 and then east on highway 16 to Edmonton and then south on highway 2. This would take a very long time.
I really hope your dad is okay! Let us know when you hear from him.

I took a few pictures on the way home from work crossing the peace bridge. This is at around 3:30. It was crazy how close the water felt to the bottom of the bridge compared to how it usually is.
Spoiler!

He could get to Banff and even to Canmore, but a large portion of Canmore is evacuated to higher ground in Canmore, and I am sure every hotel/motel room is already taken in both communities, if they're not evacuated. That's why I figure Golden will already be stacking people up in the hotels/motels there. Could stay in Lake Louise but that's expensive. And I don't imagine Banff or Canmore want any more people in the town than they already have - they must be cram packed right now, with the road closed.
