Like a responsible adult I'm going to blame my previous source...
It wouldn't surprise me, though, if it was wage demands that prevented this deal from happening before the Fulham match.

How are Spurs coming up with all this money for all of these new players? Presumably from the impending Bale transfer, but what if that falls through?

11m € for Eriksen?! What the actual ####? Levy is a genius.
Sam Wallace (one of the few reporters I actually trust) says Baines has asked Everton to agree a deal with Man United ... similar news to Fellaini yesterday. I guess Fellaini+Baines to United is really bound to happen. The Mirror (yeah, I know ^^) says United has increased their offer for both to 38m ... that is pretty close to what I would deem fair. Maybe 40 gets it done, hopefully before the weekend ... or at least before the Liverpool game.

Eriksen is kind of an odd one. He was so highly touted for a while, but interest in him has really cooled as of late. I'm curious to know if there is maybe a personal issue that has caused clubs to pass over him. If not, Spurs may have got a real bargain. Will be interesting to watch him develop.

I saw him play against Manchester City last spring and he looked like and incredible player. The eleven million figure might be low if he only has a year or two left on his contract.

He turned down man city last year (didn't think he would play enough) and was rumored for bvb earlier this summer most people thought it was done
Only 1 year left on his contract which really lowers the price

BVB and Liverpool both preferred Mhkitaryan to him, and Liverpool seemed to lack interest in him even after losing out on Mhkitaryan. It just seems strange that a Champs league team, like Man U or someone abroad, didnt push for him when the opportunity was there. It just made me think that something may have happened in the last year that caused some clubs to sour on him.

Anzhi Makhachkala's yard sale has been unbelievable this summer. They have now sold Christopher Samba to Dinamo Moscow. In total, they have had a transfer revenue of 115m this summer:
Vladimir Gabulov for 6.2m to Dinamo Moscow
Aleksey Ionov for 4.4m to Dinamo Moscow
Christopher Samba for 8.8m to Dinamo Moscow
Aleksandr Kokorin for 16.7m to Dinamo Moscow
Yuri Zhirkov for 9.7m to Dinamo Moscow
Igor Denisov for 13.2m to Dinamo Moscow
Willian for 33.4m to Chelsea
Lass Diarra for 10.5m to Lokomotiv Moscow
Mbark Boussoufa for 13.2m to Lokomotiv Moscow
crazy stuff.

Didn't Samba just leave QPR, where he was on a permanent (i.e. not loan)? If so, aren't their rules restricting multiple transfers within the same window?
Either way, very bizarre stuff.

You can only register for three clubs within a twelve month period. He's registered for Anzhi twice, but it only counts as one club. So Dynamo Moscow are the third club he has registered for, and hence he won't be able to register for another club until January.
The rules are in place like that exactly for a situation like this, when a financial backer decides not to pump any more money into a club.

Chelsea have completed the signing of Samuel Eto’o from Anzhi Makhachkala on a one-year contract.

It doesnt say how much they paid for him, but I read somewhere that he was thrown in in the Willian deal just so Chelsea could take his ridiculous salary off of Anzhi's hands.
Isnt he on something like £350k/wk or something stupid like that?

yup ... it's really bizarre, and Samba is just the top of the iceberg ... Kokorin just made the switch from Dinamo to Anzhi in early July, only to be sold back for the same amount a month later. Denisov has been at three different clubs in just two months - he was at Zenit, the made the switch to Anzhi in July and was then sold to Dinamo. "Only in mother Russia" type of stuff.

a bid around 40m should do the trick ... would be a fair deal for the pair, and Everton could use the money to buy McCarthy.
Reports from Spain suggest that United has made a €30m bid for Ander Herrera, but Bilbao don't want to negotiate a deal, so United would have to pay his €36m release clause ... just do it, who cares about €6m more or less? Fellaini+Herrera for the midfield and suddenly the transfer window would look okay.
