Great article, I never knew she took time away. I remember that match against Venus like it was yesterday. Anyways, official Davis cup venue announcement tomorrow 8am, likely Van. It would be a shock to many people if it wasn't. I guess I just need to move out West so I can stop being disappointed by our neglect.

I noticed since the Rogers Cup of 2011 that her game had gone awry. She is a power player and she was spraying her forehand everywhere.

Betting on tennis is crazy. There is almost literally at least 1 tennis match going on at some point around the world. Everything from ATP, WTA, Challengers and Futures. This is usually how I watch Bouchard and Peliwo matches, on betting sites where you can bet on those matches.

And if you go on her twitter and bash her for being a Canucks fan, she'll probably laugh

If so, then Tennis Canada is really lame. Why not spread the wealth? It's not like Vancouver is some sort of Tennis hotbed that will fill a massive arena and no where else in Canada can.

3 ties in a row to Van?

Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

I think a lot of it was political and a little bit of it had to do with the people at Tennis Canada being lazy and not trying to find another venue. I think the Corral should have been considered but alas. Tennis Canada says other ties will be spread but I've got my doubts after this debacle.

Looks like my friends have bailed on me so I won't be attending the quarter finals. Little disappointing but money is tight anyways so I guess it is for the best

I think since it's Italy Tennis Canada doesn't care that much and will put it in Vancouver.
Plus there no point putting it in Toronto or Montreal where there are a bazillion Italians.

Also, the tie against South Africa last September in Montreal drew flies so they may not go back there anytime soon.

I would bet you anything that if Canada plays in the semifinal against Serbia in September it'll be in Toronto, maybe even the ACC.

Rub salt in the wound! Flames are playing in Vancouver during Davis Cup quarterfinals. I wish my friends weren't deadbeats!

Now she's deleted everything.

http://www.tennisworldusa.org/Rebecc...icolo8547.html

So she's on social media, gets bullied and gets off twitter from feb to december. Then she starts up again gives an interview to the NY Times. The stories gets some coverage and Canadian media picks it up. Instead of being a role model and bring awareness.. she hides again.

Strange strange girl.. I think her tennis career is over.

Very strange. Why would she give the interview is this was the result?
She's totally lost her game.

Meanwhile, Milos plays Jack Sock tonight, around 8pm. Next round he would play James Blake.

more about the stuff these young players (and likely all athletes with any sort of notability) face online. the things posted on Laura Robson's account are pretty sickening, and this is probably the tame stuff.

You just have to block people, don't let it bother you.
