Ok, so server is set up again, updated to most recent version and the old plugin seems to be working still. Reset the world, and created the start point so whenever we want to start a game it is good to go.

There is a new version of the plugin, more fully featured, that I will work on over the next few days as I get time.

Minecraft 1.4 is being released on Wednesday. Maybe we should get a game in before everyone ends up updating to the new version?

Next Saturday or Sunday evening/night could possibly work for me. If we do teams we should pick them early and then each team could devise a voicecom solution for their players.

Ok, watching the last couple seasons of Mindcrack Ultra Hardcore have got me itching to get back into this again. I also played a Vechs map with some new-to-Minecraft friends last month and had a ton of fun. I know summer isn't the best time, but I'm curious if anyone is still interested in this.

I was considering renting a server if people are still into it. This MCProHosting site seems to have decent plans, including a gig of RAM and up to 23 players for US$10 a month. That seems low on the RAM side, but we also probably would never get 20+ people available at one time. This would take all the pressure off of Rathji to host a server, although it would require myself or someone else knowing enough to get things set up. I think I could at least load up a Race for Wool or Cluster Chunk map for us to play with on my own though.

I've been playing on jayocal's server but I either never seem to catch anyone on or no one plays anymore.

I'm definitely in (but I haven't really played at all since the last CP sessions). I've got a buddy that would probably play too.

With my new contracts, my time for this had dropped off drastically, so me being able to set up a server is unlikely.

I haven't played since the last time we played together. I'd be interested to play anything really.

I can't speak for the other players on the server but I recently started a new job and along with having a 9 month old, my time is limited. But I'll always keep it running and I'll eventually have more time to play!

Anyone else on CP is free to join. Just PM me.

I found an island on jayocal's server around (0,650) where I started building a little base. Seems like a great server.

I'm going to have to build a base underwater, so no one finds me

Hey guys, I just downloaded Minecraft onto my laptop for my son and I to play. We messed around a bit and than I shut it down. I tried to resume later, but I cannot figure out how to start the game. The software was shutdown and is now MIA. Any thoughts?

Been a while since I played but the jar file is located at

c:\users\<username>\appdata\roaming\.minecraft

What you should really do is just download the executable file again from minecraft.net , or check your downloads for minecraft.exe

Thanks Rathji. I double click the jar file (titled Launcher) and nothing happens. What I found odd is that it has a java logo next to it.

You don't load the .jar file anymore, you need to start minecraft from the executable launcher. So Minecraft.exe is what you should be running.

I cannot seem to find the executable. Running win8 by the way. Wait a second, it is in my downloads folder, how stupid is that?

Its a file you downloaded.

You might be expecting it to install like a regular program, with desktop short cuts etc, but just put the file on your desktop.

In case anyone reads this thread and is wondering the same thing, the executable is in your downloads folder. There is no other way to start the game, unless you use this file. Move it where ever.

Thanks guys!
