It’s an absolute joke. Anyone who says the league doesn’t favor the Oilers is flat ass lying.

I've said it a million times, Oilers fans rant and rave about an NHL Conspiracy regarding the Oilers.
But despite all the 1st overalls, the soft schedules, the marshmallow calls for Powerplays they cant seem to wrap their heads around the fact that if there is a League conspiracy regarding the Oilers... its heavily in their favour!!

Honestly, I'm not upset about the oilers coming up from the bottom of the league. They are now in that mushy middle and if they stay there that is great. I really really want to them to trade their first this year so they have no firsts next 2 seasons.

That was always going to happen anyhow… they can’t help themselves. They could be in 32nd place by the New year and they would still always be one top 6 forward away that they would spend the 1st on.

Jeebus, just looked at the schedule, so Oilers just had the jets on a back to back, next they play the Sabres the day after they play us, and then the red wings again a day after they play us. And theyre getting 3 days off to boot.

I said five years ago Katz somehow gets the inside track on western teams areas availability and submits his to get the second of back to backs, either that or he has the NHL schedule maker in his pocket.
E=NG but they cheat better than anyone.

If Dallas can't beat Edmonton in the playoffs this year when they have EDM's old PP coach as their new head coach.... I mean.... jesus christ.

^^ ...and this is why no one outside of greasebag-central takes Staples seriously. "Top forechecking forward in the NHL" should be enough to land him in a straightjacket.

Staples is nuts (what a shock). Hyman is nowhere near good enough to be on the Olympic team.
Hyman sort of reminds me of Jonathon Cheechoo - not stylistically or talent-wise or anything else, but purely in the sense that the only reason he scored 50 goals was because of Thornton and never replicated the feat again. Similar to how the only reason Hyman scored 50 was because of McDavid and yeah, he's never going to repeat that feat again...

I must have missed the award for "best forechecking forward in the NHL".
Remember when Draisaitl was called "best backhand passer in the NHL" by these dopes?

When Nick Backstrom was in the league, he was the best passer forehand or backhand. But you didnt hear their media hamming it up

People espousing either theory sound equally absurd.

But Hyman is the best forechecking forward in the NHL…
In afternoon road games…
…In January…
…of leap years…
…excluding players whose last names begin with C.
It's all in the stats, man! We got numbers! This is valid stuff!

Just noticed that Celebrini is a point ahead of the greatest player ever by 1 pt and is sitting at a +6 on a young rebuilding team, while Mavi is sitting at -6.
When are people going to realize that one of the biggest reasons Edmonton has not won anything is actually because of McDavid. How he is referred to as the best player in the world is absolutely baffling.

Because like both of those players, points are not everything.
Lead a team to a championship and then those conversations start, um, except for only the Sportsnet Propaganda machine

Mavi has never led a team to any Championship, at any level outside of minor hockey.

staples secretly lobbying for a 250 player roster for Canada for the Olympics. Others that must be added:
Top bench door opener in the NHL (pickard), Best press box player that isn't in the press box in the NHL (Frederic), Best Norris winner that hasn't won yet in the NHL (Emberson), Best player not named in any other category but plays for the Oilers (everyone not named Mavi).

Honestly, is this true? Seriously? He won something team related in Minor Hockey?
