In the first deck mrk's 9th card is a 9, and my 5th card in an 8.

On that one I figured that coming over the top was pointless. Squiggs would have folded if I was actually winning (had a 5 or more maybe), but he would have called if I had a 2 or a 1 (which I did). There was really no benefit to risking any more of my chips, so I just called there. Maybe I get him to drop a 4/5 with a big raise, but I thought it was unlikely.

Hands 13-16 were definitely the key hands and I got the card luck there. Especially the 10-10 because I had first action. Fun game though - had a few sweaty moments for sure.
In hand 10 I knew your 10 cards, and 5 of my cards. The cards I didn't know were 1, 2, 8, 8, 10. I had folded hands 1 and 4, and didn't receive a penalty. That means my card was either an 8 or 10. Both were above 6. I made calls early in that round to ensure I had enough, such as calling your 10 and your 5. During hand 10 the cards you didn't know were 3, 4, 6, 7, 9.

I would like to do this again, but next time we sit across from each other, and have the card on our foreheads. You could likely eliminate the 3 and 4 based on raises in hands

So that's what you were doing there - I even made a note of it when you called my raise and then I had a 10. I thought you just made a mistake, but getting info on cards was important too.

One on one in person would be interesting, I think I'm a better poker player online without tells and such, but I have played some live poker with success, so I think I'd be up to the challenge.

Next time we do this over FaceTime. You can get Siri to pick a number between 1 and 10. Seriously, I just found that out today. You can also get her to flip a coin for you.

Congrats on the round one win mrk.

Indian Poker was by far my favourite death match (and not just because I won when I played). I think it would be a great live game for a CP meetup.

Yeah, there were a number of games that would probably translate a lot better in person, and I think that death match was one of them. Maybe we should do an actual live person Genius game? That might be a little tough to organize though!

Even though this game has already been played twice, I do have a few questions on Quatro:

1) I don't quite understand rule one. It says they will consider cards that are already revealed and then choose the best card for a quatro. Does that mean if the cards they are showing does not help make a quatro, their next step is to consider their hidden cards to make a quatro, or do they go to rule two right away? (Sorry, this is tough to type out)

2) When the computer players are giving you the best card to make a quattro, does that mean based on the cards you've laid down already? Or can the "see" your current hand including the hidden cards?

Go to rule 2 right away.

based on the cards you have already laid down. The computer players cannot see the cards in your hand.

For example if the computer player has 6 5 4 and you are showing 5 the computer player will give you 4

why? because you already have a red card and you already have a 5.

Tails.

And I have a lunch at 11:30, so it might be better to start in the afternoon. Or maybe just set up a dedicated time tonight?

sure, afternoon is fine.

It is tails. mrkajz has won the toss and will go first.

squiggs: you have item invalidation, would you like to use it this game?
mrkajz has extra trade. With this item, at any time in the game he can make a trade with one defenseman a 2nd time (he still must trade with all defensemen).

squiggs96 has the following items:
ITEM INVALIDATION
GAME 4 SELECTION
FREE GUESS (TRUTH DETECTOR)
5 CHIPS (INDIAN POKER)

mrkajz has the following items
GAME 1 SELECTION
GAME 2 SELECTION

FREE TURN (NEW GAME)
HIDE COLOR (BLACK AND WHITE)
EXTRA TRADE (QUATTRO)

ITEM INVALIDATION cannot block the selection items

And I don't have to use the extra trade if I don't want to? Just want to make sure I understand my perk.
