Defensive mistakes AND the Indians get all the BABIP luck too if that isn't bad enough. Gausman was not even bad. Certainly not as bad as it would appear on the scoresheet

Fun fact: Thornton is actually having a career best year by a significant margin.
Fear not my friends…we have Yusei to save us tomorrow.

So I see the Mariners DFA'ed Giles and he's now talking with several teams, the Jays among them.
Hopefully they built up enough good will with him that he'll pick the Jays.
If he sucks, no biggie. Just DFA him again.
But if he finds his previous form that'd be one hell of an add for high leverage. He was so fun to watch a few years ago. Just money, no one could touch him. K K K K K

Ugly to watch the Jays at times this year. So very inconsistent and really doesn't feel like they've played to their talent level much this year.
There still a good team but don't think they can be great. Just a few too many major flaws (back end of bullpen, lack of impact LH bats, pitching depth) that will keep them from being great and unfortunately those areas have been problems for a while. I've been a supporter but I do think the pressure should be building on Atkins. He did a new job rebuilding the club but perhaps he just isn't the guy to take them over the hump.
time to figure it out and the talent is there. Could be a team that is just trying to peak at the right time.

Double good news: Springer was reactivated from the IL today and Zimmer has been DFA'd. There's a chance he could end up snapped up on waivers but I doubt it.

Kikuchi and Bradish on the bump tonight. Might be a good game to sprinkle a little on the over tonight. With that said it'll probably be a 2-1 final.

They are also likely going to sign Yoshi Tsutsugo to a minor league deal. He has been awful this season. Throwing some more mud against the wall and hoping something sticks.

Going up against Bradish is the only saving grace. Otherwise having Kikuchi up on a night we need a win......oof

Ha an 0-2 bloop double. Pretty much sums up how things have been going for the Jays the last 10.

Bloop double to start the game. Seems about right.

Not an ideal start so far but Kikuchi is locating his pitches pretty well.

3 0-2 counts for Kikuchi resulting in a double, RBI single, and a walk. Seems about right lol.

At what point do you make changes and take out the pitcher that struggles consistently and seems to give up a lot of 1st inning runs? Interesting to see the stats but every time this guy pitches now I just assume the Jays will be down before they get up to bat.

I love seeing Gurriel third in the lineup. Kirk slows things down on the bases.

Merrifield is almost as useless at the plate as Zimmer is/was

As disappointing as some of the pitching has been (Berrios, Kikuchi, Ryu, etc), the bats have been just about as disappointing. I compare this offence to Bowser in Mario Kart…once it gets going it goes really fast but it is really slow to get going. We seem to either pile on the runs to a point where the runs no longer really matter or the bats are pretty quiet.
