That'd be a horrible, horrible trade.
Frolik is under 30, is typically good for about 15-20 goals and 40-45 points a year, plays awesome two-way hockey (second-best relative corsi in hockey over the last three years), and is cheaper.

Why would Edmonton possibly not want to do that? It would be so perfect for them. They would HAVE to take salary back in a trade for Eberle, and in this instance they would get back a solid, top six, two forward.
Am I missing something about Frolik?

Flames need to add, Monahan and Frolik may get it done. It is not everyday you can get a soft winger who snags you 20-25 goals and 50 points a year and disappears in the playoffs for 6 million bucks. Need to add for that type of quality.

I can agree that signing Frolik for no asset cost vs investing a 1st round draft pick certainly creates much more value for CGY overall.
But Eberle is still a better on ice asset than Frolik.
