I also stupidity caught myself thinking about playoff chances after the 6 game win streak. Minnesota is in a nosedive right now and the Jays are 8 games back and playing the Twins this weekend. But then the last 2 games happened and the real Jays showed up again. Yesterday was a very winnable game but they shot themselves in the foot with terrible baserunning. And tonight was a night that we've seen all to often this season.

Jays should claim him. He would objectively improve the bullpen. It's not like you have to give the prospect back...
I mean, maybe they don't care about the results this season at all, but I think Richards would be a good guy to have next year and claiming him now probably makes signing him for next year more likely.

Yeah. His last four starts totals are 29.0 innings, 6 hits, 2 earned runs
If the Jays get 2nd-half-versions of Vladdy and Francis next year they could be a good team.

Didn’t have Francis becoming Dave Steib on my 2024 bingo card.
Steib had a 4 game stretch in his last two games of ‘88 and his first two games of ‘89 with 35 innings, 7 hits, and one run.
