I've watched nearly 0 minutes of any of these guys discussed.

For those who have actually paid attention, outside of Celebrini, which player(s) could potentially play in the NHL right away?

I honestly don't know outside of Demidov and Levshunov. Maybe Helenius? Lindstrom has the speed and size already but he needs a clean season in the W.

Would you call a much better skating, 6’7” Robyn Regehr a 3rd pairing defenceman?

Scoring, speed, and skill is much harder to find and they are usually drafted.
There are roles on a team. You need everyone to play them, and you only have so many guys that can play certain spots.

Morin, Brewsky and Porier all could be PP dmen. Weegar is a good all-around dman. We need to star shut down player. Ekblad is decent, no? Had 18 points this year, but he matches up against elite forwards, star on the PK and is useful on the PP/offensively. We aren't winning with 6 Tyson Barrie's/Kevin Shattenkirk's

I haven’t watched him play, but Dickinson is regarded as the most NHL-ready of the d-men. Which is why, despite questions around how high his ceiling is, there’s a good chance he’ll get grabbed by a team like Ottawa or Utah looking to improve sooner rather than later.

Timing is right for us to not have to worry about seats at the dome anyway, with the new arena coming. Silayev, if he checks enough of the Flames boxes, will be a fine pick and a potentially elite one if he lives up to the positive-leaning opinions of him. Flames will be bad at least until the new arena is in place and the bump from that new building plus an up and coming young team might mean we don't care about this pick not being the sexy offensive star by then.

I think next year's draft is the most important as far as picking high and finding that #1 center.

Are Ekholm, Forsling, and Ekblad third-pairing players in today’s NHL?

What about a 6'7 Chris Tanev? I don't really want Silayev either but it's not really a high floor, low ceiling pick. If he hits he is a #1 Dman

Meh I'd rather grab Catton and then EJ Emery at 28 if we want another tanev

18 points in 51 games.

I am aware that we need good players, but filling out the bottom 6 or 3rd pairing would not be exciting with the #9 pick.

He could be bottom pairing with the potential to be top pairing. Tanev a bottom pairing dman? He played with Heskinen most the playoffs and switched to play with Harley to balance out their d in the Oilers series

We have to be careful when talking about Oiler defenceman. When we see them play without McDavid we can properly assess them.

No the rest are not 3rd pairing defenceman, but I am not going to believe a guy that has had questionable offence even playing kids his age is worth the risk at 9.

Maybe I am still scarred from the Hunter Smith's of the world and Keegan Kanzig.

What do I know.

You can certainly choose your own level of expectation.

I'm just happen to be in the other camp.

Would be equally as upsetting to end up with a third line winger though right?

I totally agree but Silayev's upside isn't a third pairing dman. If he is there when the Flames pick I would be zero percent surprised if they took him though.

Yes it would be.

I think Iginla is going to be a star. I am also down on Lindstrom.

The size and skating is great, the injuries are not especially back injuries for big guys who can protect the puck who will constantly get cross checked.

I like the other defenceman like Dickinson, because we have more information about their game.

Right but how many guys that size have been effective NHL players from the backend?

Chara? Pronger?

Kind of rare no?

Which is kind of funny because he is the safe pick with questionable upside
