Businesses and corporations HR teams need to get rid of strict and formal PTO/vacation policies. Offering three weeks vacation to new hires is not an enticing offer especially when they have years of significant experience and having no flexibility because of corporate policies makes no sense. Why would someone be interested in going from 4 or 5 or more weeks of vacation down to three when joining a different company?

It is baffling.
But also a good warning sign

My company just re-evaluated PTO and vacation and based it in our years of experience, not your time with the company.
Great for us seasoned peoples...I maxed out my vacation despite only being an employee for two years.

I'm at 6 weeks now.
It honestly hard to take it all.

My company thinks our policy is just fine, not sure how they figure that. Maximum vacation is 4 weeks, that worked fine when we were a startup and nobody had more than a few years of experience. We've grown to the age where some employees have >15 years service yet we are capped at 4 weeks.

Oh yeah, it's why would it be easy to eradicate the species (and prove it)? I like the Panda one but I think it'd just be easier to shoot them all than to eliminate their fast-growing bamboo. The snails? Yeah, it's really easy to take out what we *think* is their only habitat, but awfully hard to prove there isn't another isolated population somewhere, no? And koalas? Now I need to go look up koala promiscuity to figure out why STIs might work...

4 weeks was great to work towards when new employees started at 2. But now with pretty much everyone starting at 3 when they join a company, 4 weeks for a senior employee makes you look cheap.

I’m not sure id work somewhere that only gives credit for time at that specific company and not industry experience. Luckily I have never ran into that. Current company tops out at 5 weeks after 15 years industry experience.

Match Game may be the best game show of all time. Gene Rayburn ran a tight ship. Richard Dawson was equal amounts funny and sleezy. The other regular panel members were total pros.

New company back to 4 with me. I like to carry a week for emergency days. I asked for an extra one this year, not paid, Nope.
I used to have 7 with all the flex days and lifestyle weeks and nonsense. Nope, just 4. I think vacation days are harder to give up than pay. But once you get laid off once you are just happy with what you get.

I had to go back into my Google Location History from a few years back to check something and noticed something annoying. My history obviously shows me driving to work every day and sitting in the company office. That office at the time was in the Chinook mall area. We moved downtown a few years ago but now for instance my Google history shows me driving 15 mins from my house in the SW to downtown (if only), then walking for 6 mins at lunch time to a restaurant near Chinook, then walking 6 mins back to downtown, etc
I would've thought Google locations would be tied to the physical coordinates I was at, and not just the name of the company's head office.

So if someone else's food order shows up your house and it is tagged with the intended address is it still fair game to keep it? Buddy of mine had someone 5 doors down take his Hello Fresh order that got delivered to their door.
On one hand it's HF mistake and they should replace the order. But if the package was labeled, and not intended for you it is theft to willingly keep it. I guess these other people might also get Hello Fresh and mistook it. But that's not that likely.
Than again for all I know Hello Fresh is terrible...maybe it's awesome no idea.

I think you'd have to be a real dirt bag to keep it.
I've had Amazon mistakenly deliver stuff to my house. I just take the box down the street to where its supposed to go.
Its not my order.
If someone stole a meal? I hope they're deathly allergic to the whole thing. Thats a dick move.

It is a random address then yeah most likely I’m not, my wife would. She would get in the car and drive it to the address.
If it’s 5 doors down I’m walking down with it.
