Well I was convinced the Jays were big believers in Montoyo and they turfed him, I think Atkins has given himself some runway, but ya missing the playoffs would be a big deal.

Atkins preached accountability when he fired Montoyo. The Jays were relatively comfortable in the playoffs on trade deadline day but with very clear holes. The early evidence is that they didn’t really adequately fill those holes. If they end up missing the playoffs, Atkins should be canned.

Atkins should not be canned. The off-season moves seemed enough to get this team a serious contender label. They have just not performed as they should have. It's a results based business, but he's done a ton right to set this team up to be sustainable. Not adding at the deadline was a good move, because this team as it is, is just not playing to a championship calibre. They're going to have to work hard to get their conditioning up in the off-season, to make better decisions. This is on the players. I'd give the guy minimum 2 more seasons, maybe 3.

Also Vladdy is crushing the ball and still unlucky. XBA for his balls are abound .60 and hitting into line outs etc. i think his average exit Velocity was around 107 mph today.

Watching the guardians play is as infuriating as ever. Just Babip luck and hard hit balls right at them. A bottomed out payroll and a roster playing well over their heads that always give the Jays trouble.
Tapia hit a rocket in the first that shouldve scored two. But nope. Cleveland first baseman playing in the right spot somehow. And the Guardians are just soft contacting and running all over the bases.

This team is so ####ing annoying.
It's weird, they're still 3rd place in the AL but at the same time they feel like a massive disappointment.
Probably because they keep getting pushed around by playoff teams with 1/3 of their payroll.

Too many stupid mistakes.
Tapia letting the ball bounce over him, Kirk overthrowing the ball, Biggio not being able to get to a ball he should have been able to run down. Then there's swinging at dumb pitches or watching pitches they should swing at go by.

I just came in to say Thornton sucks.
Jesus, this team needs to start playing some clutch baseball again. Cannot string enough hits together for a proper rally. Pitching not really saving them other than yesterday.
Time to turn this around before it's too late, boys.
