What if your house catches fire because you wanted to save money by skimping on materials and deliberately ignoring fire code regulations because "Big Government" can't tell you what to do? Then the fire department took an extra 10 minutes to get there, letting the blaze go out of control because you continually voted down critical new tax measures that would have stopped its budget being slashed? And don't forget that they couldn't run the hoses properly to get at the fire because having 8 cars on blocks in your front yard is a constitutional right!
What if you have a fire but live in a neighbourhood that has been highlighted federally for 'benign neglect' and therefore aren't properly served by EMS services your taxes help pay for?
A senior figure involved in funding efforts to support the billionaire’s campaign against Hillary Clinton boasted of how activists had adopted a scheme to “try to drop her turn-out two or three points” in key areas of the country.
Jesse Benton, who described himself as a “consultant” to the Great America PAC, said the strategy involved “trying to take their taste for her away”.
At the meeting at a New York hotel on October 13 added: “In Cleveland [in Ohio], if we can return Hillary to normal turnout levels … we can turn her to regular turnout levels she’s gonna lose about 60,000 votes in that area – that’s dead heat.
“So we have a voter suppression campaign quite frankly, targeting African Americans, and uh, and sort of, suburban mums, just bad stuff about Hillary, just trying to take their taste for her away.”
Accepting that his presidential bid will fail, Libertarian vice presidential candidate Bill Weld on Tuesday obliquely urged voters to vote for Hillary Clinton.
In a Tuesday statement addressed to "those in the electorate who remain torn between two so-called major party candidates," the former Massachusetts governor told Republicans not to vote for the GOP nominee out of “fear for our country.”
Anyone watch this exchange between Gingrich and Megyn Kelly?? He flips out on her says that she's fascinated with sex after she brings up a hypothetical. She handles him quite well IMO, I wonder where she'll go after she's done with Fox.
This morning Newt tweeted: "For the record, @megynkelly was wrong, i don't have anger management issues. I do have media bias issues!"

I think that is the first time I've actually bothered listening to Gingrich speak. What a detestable human being.
Megyn Kelly on the other hand.....

Her contract is up this year so unless we see FOX make a huge offer I suspect she bolts somewhere else. Also we don't really even know what FOX will look like after the election, I think all of their big names had clauses in their contracts that allowed them to bail if Ailes was no longer there. So it could all fall apart pretty fast for FOX. I imagine O'Reilly stays and gets paid, but if there is indeed a Trump TV we could see a decent chunk of FOX talent migrate over there.

Donald Trump went on the offensive against a military expert and former dean of the Army War College, Jeff McCausland, who said the Republican nominee’s comments this weekend about the battle to reclaim Mosul in Iraq show he doesn’t have a firm grasp of military strategy.
“You can tell your military expert that I’ll sit down and I’ll teach him a couple of things,” Trump told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview.
Cruz continues to lay the groundwork McCain started for the Republicans to refuse to do their jobs. Can't say I'm surprised, this type of partisan horsecrap is the norm for them. Maybe they'll just try and hold out for a liberal justice to die or retire so they can get a majority back.
This is interesting, if not a little disconcerting. The Democrats are already laying the groundwork to damage potential Republican 2020 presidential candidates. Mostly by tying them to Trump.
Maybe it was a little naive of me, but I didn't know this industry existed. You can get paid to figure out ways to hack on a guy who might not even be in politics in a couple years? You guess who your opponent might be decide on how to best attack them three years down the road? Kinda sickening. And apparently standard operating procedure for both sides.
Also of note, Obama fouls up the use of "begs the question" and that always makes me snicker when Mr. Smart Guys do it:
"He also called Donald Trump a dangerous con artist who has spent a career sticking it to working people,” Obama said in Miami Gardens last week. “Now, that begs the question, since we’re in Florida. Why does Marco Rubio still plan to vote for Donald Trump? Why is he supporting Donald Trump?""
