Sigh...
Ontario contributed almost 3x more seats to the Conservative majority than Alberta.

I get if you're a Liberal and you're upset but holy it's not quite as black and white as some people make it out to be.

As much as I despise the Pinko Commie platform of the NDP, we all owe Mr. Layton a massive debt of gratitude for the absolute teabagging the Libs received tonight, right on the chin.

Alberta will be a very prosperous place for the next 4 years now that any doubt has been removed about Alberta's resource management.

Clearly you weren't around in the 50's and wouldn't know what government and policies were like back then.

So I can only encourage you to maybe read the platform, because its not even close to amercianized.

And thanks, the Cons couldn't have gotten a majority without the assistance of Ontario, Quebec and all of the other provinces in the country.

Hey, I just want to say congratulations to everyone who voted Conservative! I hope that things go well for Canada over the next four years and that the Conservatives can use their majority to get some good work done for Canada.

I'm really happy about the results for the NDP, it has been a long time coming.

Finally... bye bye Bloc!

Amazing that NDP got roughly 33% of the vote in Saskatchewan, Liberals got 8%, yet the Liberals have more seats than the NDP there. NDP have exactly zero.

FPTP is a ridiculous electoral system.

I know this has been said a lot but I disagree with it. I think the reason the Conservatives won their majority is because people (especially Ontario residents!) did not like Michael Ignatieff and therefore booted the Liberal party very hard in the ass.

The NDP for the most part kicked the Bloc out of Parliament and picked up a few seats in the other provinces but I don't think they were the main contribution to the victory by the CPC tonight.

Charlie Sheen pumping out a couple more tweets, or a youtube video of a man getting a football in a groin, and the suddenly-socially aware and complaining crew above, will follow that next bouncing ball into malaise.

Man some people shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion, damn it they're sucking up valuable oxygen. On a side note Ariel Dash forgot that Harper doesn't care about Black People.

I'm guessing these are the so called enlightened young people who thought it was a good idea to vote NDP huh? Some of these comments just goes to show how ignorant some people are. I felt like I was reading rants from pre pubescent teens.

By golly, I think he's right!

Oh and I truly hope most of the people on Facebook and other sites are only joking. A good portion of the younger generation just seems to believe that a Harper majority will act like Bush did for his Eight years. How many of them believe that is astounding to me. It's about time the CPC got a chance to show what they can do with the full confidence of Canadians, which was proven tonight.

They are not going to go on a tyrannical reign with some sort of "evil agenda". I am sure a CPC Majority government will be business as usual, with new policies and plans that I for one believe will benefit most Canadians. If some Canadians do not wish to be a part of it, please move to America where things for the most part are worse off than in "Harper Land".

So the single mom who never visted or talked to anyone in her riding 3 hours away from where she lived, can't speak French, her employer at a pub didn't know she was even running, and just returned from Vegas because she had booked a cheap ticket a few months ago and didn't want to drop it, won by a landslide.

So, she basically won strictly based on her (webcam) picture.
Wonder how she even got hooked into the NDP in the first place.

The first comment I noticed from that article. Pretty sad really.

I love it! I am an NDP supporter in Alberta who is used to seeing useless, lazy, deadbeat Tories win landslide victories thanks to the mindless sheep that pass for voters in my province. Thank you Quebec for propelling the NDP to the most staggering gains by any party in the history of Canadian politics.

Hello Canada, my fools. What a sad bunch you are who voted for a dictator!!! WOW - Canada is now a backward country BIG TIME. It is sad indeed that Canada is now ruled by dictators and those who voted for Him and his cronies. Everyone I have ever met has called me "avant guarde" and I wondered what in heck they were talking about!!! Now - FINALLY - I know. I am surrounded by a pack of sad, sad, sad people. People who are so unintelligent, so lacking in self-esteem that they would vote for the very person who can't stand the likes of THEM!!! WOW. I am surrounded by fools. O.K. - Goodbye Canada. You are a goner. God help you Jack Layton.

Wow. Then there is this clown...

Thanks for reminding me why I'm not on Twitter but I've just lost a few IQ points reading the enlightened comments from the 'future generation of leaders'.

I think it's funny. ON FB: The same people who complained voting for Harper was the end of democracy, where the same people trying to sway people to vote...the same people after tonight began whining like they just lost a contest or something.
