Not to mention the silly light on the PS4 controller makes the battery last like 1/10th of the PS3 controller.

The battery in my launch controller is shot and the rubber is wearing off the sticks on both controllers. Definitely appears there was some cost cutting on these to incorporate the LED and touch pad.

That's the problem I had and when I called Sony to get a replacement the guy I talked to told me the controllers at launch had a problem with poor adhesive on the analog sticks and that the newer models were better quality.

I haven't had that problem with the replacement but I also use analog stick covers just to be safe.

Tomb Raider release details finally coming out. Surprised they're doing a multi-gen release. I'll probably just wait for the optimized "Definitive Edition". I wonder how it will do going head to head with Fallout the same day.

Rise of the Tomb Raider, will be available for Steam and Windows 10 PC in early 2016. The game will be a console exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360 for one year after its initial launch, coming to PlayStation 4 Holiday 2016

Rise of the Tomb Raider is premiering on Xbox One and Xbox 360 first on November 10, 2015.

Looking forward to it. Thought the last one was great fun with a very good story.

Now that we can turn that light off, do people notice a big difference?

It's like having to plug in your phone all the time. People generally don't like to have wireless devices plugged in or out of commission. PS4 controllers take a while to fully charge as well. The short battery life of the controllers is my biggest complaint with the PS4 as it's borderline unacceptable in this day and age.

I prefer Microsoft's method of batteries to the PS4 as I always have fresh batteries in the charger which means controllers are never out of order and even at that the Xbox one controllers can run on the same batteries for a long time.

Do what I do and plug it in before you go to bed.

I have one of these: http://www.amazon.ca/Nyko-Charge-Bas.../dp/B00FLLFJ68

Pick up controller, play game. Turn off PS4, put controller back on charger base station.

Battery life is not a problem.

I was going to buy the Nyko (which a friend has and is awesome), but truthfully I haven't found plugging it in to be much of a problem.

not what I said at all, I plug them in when I AM NOT USING THEM

considering I don't game for eight hours straight (honestly you guys do that) it has never been an issue for me

AA's are unacceptable to me, the option is fine but xbone controllers should come with a batter pack of some sort. I ended up buying a 3rd party one for them and it works well

Yeah, it has never been much of an issue for me with any controller (PS3/360 days even). But the Nyko up there is a good solution if you can't remember to charge them when you're done. (It's kinda like the new 3DS charging cradle dock - the one you can't buy at retail in North America for some crazy reason.)

I originally got them for my PS4 with it being my default multiplatform choice and used much more often. Happy enough with it, I got it for the Xbone as well.

I've got this: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...12853a0e56en02

Not so much for the sake of battery life but I like how it helps keep things clean and easy. Clicking the controller in to charge is so much quicker than plugging in even if it's a minor thing. Plus the USB cord I save for my wireless headset/phone.

Having 2 controllers makes the battery life not a big deal though I do wish it lasted more.

I usually have a laptop running on my living room table, so I just plug the controllers into that when I need to.

Sony Financials Reveal Lifetime PS4 sales of 25.3 Million

Impressive for just under 2 years of sales. For comparison PS2 took 2 years and 8 months to hit 20 million. Last 3 months of sales have been pretty high, probably due to Arkham Knight where PS4 has outsold Xbox1 by approximately 1.5 million to 0.5 million.

Interesting, reading some of the forums it seems the PS4 is basically selling more than the Xbone, 360, Wii, Wii U and 3DS combined.

You could probably throw the poor Vita numbers in there too . . .

EDIT:

Q1 by the numbers:

1.4 million Xbone + 360 combined
3.0 million PS4 alone

this is why I always laugh when microsoft says they "won" a certain week or month. Like when they won E3 week

fine print:

sold more in NA that week...but were outsold in every other region and in the month as a whole. Eventually they are gonna "win" some months because everyone already has a PS4
