King did say it would be announced after the election. Although, he didn't specify after which one...

The rumours are that once the Argos move out of Skydome, the Jays are going to make significant changes to it to make it a full time baseball building, including the installation of natural grass (if they can figure out how to keep it alive).
Depending on what they do, there's a possibility that Skydome will no longer be suitable for hosting football games. If that happens, the only way Toronto would be able to host a Grey Cup would be at BMO Field (or wherever the Argos end up playing).

When you really think about it, it's silly that Edmonton has a football/soccer stadium the size of Commonwealth, and Toronto doesn't have a baseball specific and a football specific stadium (that isn't the size of a highschool stadium)

Lots of rumors at my work that my employer has the construction job for one of the buildings (sounds like the field house) and pre construction stage to commence in the fall. Usually that can take upward of 6 months before we break ground.

I was standing in line at Orange Julius and I overheard the same thing except construction will start in June. Political bureaucracy moves fast.

It may be ridiculous , but it's definitely part of the Argos/MLSE/BMO Field deal. If the deal happens (rumoured soon) a BMO Field Grey Cup is 100% happening.

Will BMO field remain grass? (Both TFC & Argos)

I doubt it. There hasn't even been an official RFPQ/RFP or even a design past the conceptual stage for any component of this project. For projects of this size, you typically release one of the aformentioned documents in order to solicit the best design and construction team. That's how Edmonton did theirs.

Yes, but some of the football end zones will transition to turf. Haven't seen a football rendering but I suspect it will look goofy.

Well, he said there would be an arena announcement, he never said what it would be.
"After the election of an NDP Government, we feel that the economic environment is not conducive to the construction of a new arena at this time.
Good day."

You guys are giving way too much credit to an inexperienced party with a bunch of first time MLA's who have no idea what they're doing

^^^ Also, Calgary Flames renamed to Calgary Red Army and Edmonton Oilers to reflect the new provincial capital name: Stalingrad Traktor
