not going to lie, seeing Chucky lick the orange maniac's boots like that sucks. Not that it's all that surprising, and I wouldn't be shocked either if there were actually a lot of Trump supporters in the NHL, but it still blows. I hate this god-damn timeline, man.

By "dragged through the courts" you must mean those cases where he's been found guilty and/or civilly liable for multiple felonies, sexual assault, fraud, slander, racist business practices, etc?

He was not president from 2021 to 2024. Why was he not charged then? The New York DA specifically went after him over the Stormy Daniels bookkeeping thing (‘34 felonies!’) in order to prevent him from running for president again. That failed. A conviction for sex crimes absolutely would have stopped him, but nobody even tried to get him for such a thing for the whole four years.
