If they are a socialist government as people say they are, maybe they'd have no problem opening up and helping out the poor ol Flames with a few hundred mil

I heard that they are going to bulldoze Encana's headquarters and build a multi-function hospital, school, and professional hockey facility with union offices and a shrine to Lenin in the basement. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST.

Lenin in the basement?

More like a bronze statue of him burning a pile of money on the front steps with a fountain where local children can come to make wishes.

At least Calgary's new Red Square would be an awesome place to celebrate Stanley Cup victories, although we'd have to pay homage to the politburo first I am assuming.

At least the color is red though, right?

I think the fact that there was no direct spending on the Edmonton Arena pretty much set the standard for the Calgary Arena.

And now that an "Edmonton Based" government is in power I would be very surprised to see any sort of contribution.

I know that post was half-jokingly said, but the scary part is no one will be shocked if there's no announcement by 2016.

How does Calgary get the grey cup before Ottawa and Hamilton? I wasn't expecting Calgary to have a grey cup at McMahon ever again.

This is likely to announce:

Completion (finally) of the Argos sale and BMO field deal, which may or may not include a BMO Field Grey Cup game in 2016.

They wouldn't announce that in Calgary.

Speaking of jokes, there must be something I can mumble about "In Soviet Calgary... Square is red or red is squared" or something...

Little help?

Why would they ever, ever do a grey cup at BMO field. Seems ridiculous. SMaller venue and outside....unless they move grey cup to October there no chance this happens.

I would bet any future Toronto Grey Cup is still held at Rogers Centre, similar to how Montreal holds it at the Big O, but play regularly at Molson Stadium.
