That if there was a user who liked RIM/Pepsi/Pac-Man/Everybody Loves Raymond as much as you liked Apple then there would be more discussions about those.

haha ... I'm going to take responsibility for the derailment there. Thanks for the info though!

If a software fix does end up working it would be an advantage of getting the phone later. A small consolation prize.

I'm not a fan of OS4. I find the phone much slower for the time it takes to hear the voice on the other end when I receive a call, and when I unlock my phone.

Wife tried to update her 3GS iPhone to iOS4 and it hung... and every attempt to recover it has hung as well, in the exact same place.

It has meant a quiet day for me (no text messages), but man is it frustrating.
