Shaw is showing the Vancouver/Kamloops series beginning tomorrow. Try the WHL pay-per-view site or listen on the FAN.

Hitmen in all kinds of trouble after 2 periods. Warriors lead 4-1 after 40. Obviously, not the start the Hitmen were looking for.

Well the Hitmen went through 3 rounds before losing a game last year in the playoffs. This year they lose the first game, maybe something they needed to expeirence sooner than the finals to help them win it all this year. 50 shots and only 2 goals? The Moose Jaw goalie looks as though he stole this one....

That was, without a doubt, the worst officiated hockey game I have ever seen in my life. Absolutely disgusting. Moose Jaw's first three goals were all off phantom penalties, and their fourth was an amazing sequence. A Hitmen player gets high sticked in the face, right in front of the net. Both referees see it, both referees ignore it. They realized immediately though that their incompetence directly created a scoring chance with an open net. They tried to cover up their error by inexplicably blowing the whistle right before the puck went in. However, instead of a powerplay and faceoff in Moose Jaw's end, they put the faceoff deep in Calgary's end - which was stupid, as there was no possible way that could happen. We never touched the puck, so the only possible way the whistle could have gone was on something Moose Jaw did. End result, they get a goal anyway, right off the draw.
After that, Cowley and Thompson realized just how obvious their bias was and completely flipped the other way. They started calling everything the Warriors did and ignored Calgary's infraction. But four freebies to Moose Jaw was too much, and all the credit in the world has to go to Bosch, who was the only Warrior worth anything tonight.
It is insulting that the WHL asked a single fan to pay for that debacle. Cowley and Thompson should be fired.

Bad officiating. Their goalie stole it.
Still think the Hitmen win this series.

I didn't listen to the game but when reading the gamesheet I wondered aloud if this was your typical WHL officiating debacle. The parade of Warriors players to the box after they were up 4-1 on three powerplay goals was all too obvious. It bugs me to no end how these incompetent officials ruin a good hockey game.
Hitmen will still win this in five barring a robbery of epic proportions by Bosch. Highly unlikely that that could happen. You're not stopping 48 of 50 shots most nights.

All four Moose Jaw goals were on powerplays. Their first was scored literally the moment the penalty time keeper opened the gate to let Broda out.

Calgary never even showed up for game two. Lazy, sloppy and slow. 3-0 down after one flatters the Hitmen. Third goal describes just how stupid this team is tonight: two players try to hit a Warrior behind the Moose Jaw net long after the puck was passed off. They get a free odd man rush and a easy goal. Ugh.

Ahaha. It's the Chris Savage show again. Two dives that Brent Sopel would call embarrassing and the WHL's village idiot falls for both.

No matter what happened with the refereeing the Hitmen did not deserve to win this game. I'm not sure what the problem is but they are not playing like the team we saw towards the end of the season. I am a bit concerned about the reliance on the top two lines. Throughout the year the Hitmen would roll all four lines but mostly Williamson has been running the top two lines without using the third and fourth lines. Granted there has been a lot of PP and PK which will make rolling the lines difficult. However what makes this a strong team is their depth from lines 1-4. I am concerned the top two lines are tired and if the third or fourth line gets on the ice they are not ready to play.

I must say I have to eat my words.I didn't give the boys a chance and they are putting up a good fight. This game looked a lot more even on the score sheet, other than the penalties in the 2nd, at least Bosch didn't need to make 48 saves tonight. Wish I could have seen it.

Wow the Hitmen are going to pull a Flames...WHL regular season champs and they could lose in round one to the 8 seed - possibly in a sweep.
Embarrassing.
