LOL...Kiper had that Mitchell guy rated as the 40th safety in the draft. The Raiders take him 47th overall.

Great pick for the Eagles in Lesean McCoy. I've watched him play a few times (I always seem to catch a couple of Pitt games every year) and he's a very shifty runner who can get to the second level.

It is a dark day to be a Raiders fan. I dont mind Bey... but not at 7. You have to think there was some action for that spot? Trade down 10-15 spots and get the same guy.

As for the second round pick... when you go off the draft board that far in the second round, you are a circus franchise.

The only redeeming part is, IMO, the rest of the AFC West reached with their first round picks... The Broncos taking Morano... yikes.

The Raiders are the NFL version of the Oilers.

Cheifs take Alex Magee from Purdue...yet another DL. Wonder if they are rueing their 1st pick from last year in Glen Dorsey?

Bears take Jerron Gilbert...terrific pick at this point IMO. Their first of the draft and the Cowboys pick their first as well with the 69th OV Jason Williams a LB from Western Illinois.

Just a remarkable young man and an even more remarkable family to take him in.

As for the draft...I usually never get overly excited about draft weekend because you just never know who will pan out and who wont.

BUT

I am absolutely stoked about the Packers weekend thus far...Raji falling to them was a dream with the new scheme they are implementing...trading up to get Matthews was a stroke of genius IMO as the kid is just a player and wins. Then today they grabbed one of the guys i thought would be long gone in TJ Lang an OL who can play left or right side or C. A big old kid and a guy who just got better each year of college...much like Matthews did.
