Unfortunatley, this wasn't the drum pads but instead my replacement DLP bulb.
Yeah, reducing the noise is what I'm hoping for. It sounds like if they ever arrive they'll be worth it. Looks like I've got to email the guy again, though. I'm giving him one more shot before I call my credit card company and get them to refund the charge.

So I played Rock Band for the first time ever this last weekend, and what a blast! However, I didn't like the guitar, but that's likely because I'm used to the GHIII guitar for the Wii. I did however rock out 3x 100% songs on vocals. Booyah.

I didn't know I could sing either until I played Rockband.
For me, vocals (Expert)> Drums (medium) > Guitars (medium/hard)
Not enough practice yet to get the other two above medium level

I can usually pull off medium vocals, hard - expert guitar and medium to hard drums. Select songs can be done with me playing guitar and vocals. I'll tell ya, holding up the microphone with your shoulder is a real pain.

there's an attachment that comes with the game to use the headset if your playing it on the xbox, that's how I do it works pretty well accept you can't do that tamborine or cowbell parts

Yeah, I bought it for the PS3 though, so I don't get to use the headset. Even the bluetooth ones aren't compatible from what I can tell, which is a real let down. If it keeps up that I'm singing all the time I may just invest 20 bucks in a mic stand, so I can be even MORE awesome with my fake video game singing.

lol, glad to see I'm not the only one who's thought of this. Technically you can still do the tambourine parts, you just have to blow a sharp shot of air onto the mic and it will register as a hit.

I don't recall... I was pretty hammered though. I think one was celebrity skin, and one of the others was weezer.

The Cars first album is the download this week, it's a ton o' fun. I also started drumming this week, and was able to finish medium and four and five star everything, but cripes is the jump to hard crazy. Can't seem to pick up the weird kick drum patterns, any expert advice from anyone?

For the most part getting good at the drums is practice. I'm alright, but my brother (who may be able to share more wisdom) is better at it than I am. The only advice I can give is to how to hit the pedal. For me tapping my foot down (having your heel on the floor and moving the front of your foot to push the pedal) doesn't help me get some of those really quick bass kick notes. What I end up doing is bouncing my leg to hit the pedal, which I remember reading somewhere is a way to try to improve this aspect.
I will see if I can find the article real quick.

Am I the only one here that thinks they are much much better when drunk, except on the drums. I personally think it adds to the realism of the music life
I can get through a few expert guitar songs when I am not sober, when sober, some of the hard songs fail me.

After a couple beers, I can wail away at some of the harder/higher songs better than before

In addition to the announcement of the sequel, Rock Band will get a bunch of tracks from The Who on July 15.
http://kotaku.com/5020682/massive-do...band-july-15th
On a side note, timed exclusive for Rock Band 2 on the 360. Kinda sucks for the ps3 users (360 gets it in september while ps3 gets it sometime before the year is out). On the other hand, down-loaded songs will transfer between the two versions which absolutely rules.
