If Dallas wants to beat the oilers they need Oettinger to retain form and Robertson, hintz need to wake up and rantanen can’t cool off. Scoring talent won’t beat the oilers. Need to out-goalie them and out-grit them. And d-bag benn needs to match the d-baggery of the Kanes and Perrys. And that bischell giant needs to erase Kane.
As I wrote that I’m realizing Canes/Fla might be better options lol.

I don't think I can handle the stress if I have to wait for these 2 teams to smash the Pigs.

I honestly think both the Jets and Stars match up just fine against Oilers.
I'm kind of starting to hope for a Jets-Hurricanes final, just to remind people that you don't know what's actually going to happen until the games are played.
Stars really need to start getting their non-Finnish goalscoring going at some point. You can't forever be carried by one line.

Oilers have never won a Stanley Cup without beating Winnipeg first, so there's that.

Go Stars! Beat them at home on Saturday. I don't want to risk anything.

While I think you're an unapologetic homer, I let it slide because this is a Flames forum. Paulie goes on unhinged rants and gets called out for it and instead of replying constructively he goes and tells daddy CP that the big bad posters are being mean to him.
Kinda funny.

Dallas has yet to outshoot the Jets. The Jets are the better team when Helly is even average Helly.

I am kind of disappointed in the Stars. It seems like Rantanen and a bunch of passengers. I have zero faith in the Jets beating the Oilers so it's looking like the winner of this series will go down pretty easily to the Oilers.

Last night was understandable, Jets staving off elimination, but just the other game it was Granlund single handedly beating the Jets.
My biggest fear (well one of them) for Stars vs. Oilers are the dumb penalties likely to be taken by Benn and even Petrovic. Especially Benn.

Last year my son and I pickup up this for each of us and we wore them every game day in the Stanley Cup Final: Matthew Tkachuk Friendship Tour tshirt

I don't know when it started, but whenever I see a post from you, I automatically read it in the tone/voice of Debbie Downer and it hits almost every time I noticed it on your posts about the Flames, but this year, playoffs and implications to the Oilers chances have also been hitting!

Hellebuyck doesn't look awful at home. But holy cow what a bad playoff he's been having.
There is always the rest/rust argument in the playoffs, but the Oilers have had so much momentum that I think the long break will actually be "rust" for the Oilers. I'm hoping anyway.

Stars have Rantanen (19 pts) and Hintz (10 pts) going but the rest of the forwards need to step it up.
Duchene: 5 pts in 12 games
Seguin: 4 pts in 12 games
Benn: 3 pts in 12 games
Marchment: 3 points in 12 games
Robertson: 1 point in 5 games
Even Granlund got a hat trick but he has 4 points in the other 11 games. Johnston has 8 points in 12 games but he is a -13 (!)
To me it kind of feels like the Stars haven't figured out their forward lines post the trade deadline and with everyone healthy now.
Granlund - Hintz - Rantanen
Benn - Duchene - Seguin
Robertson - Johnston - Blackwell
Marchment - Steel - Dadonov
Bourque
Those lines feel kind of random to me. Lots of talent there...but feels like they aren't sure how to deploy it.
Personally I'd be going.
Robertson - Hintz - Rantanen: Robertson and Hintz are 55.4% xGF together the last two seasons and have great chemistry. Adding Rantanen gives them a great top line.
Marchment - Duchene - Seguin: 57.6% xGF in their time together this season and had good chemistry.
Benn - Johnston - Granlund: Benn and Johnston have good chemistry together, and 53.25% xGF together the last two seasons.
Steel - Bourque - Dadonov: Should be an okay 4th line, Blackwell could fit in here too.

I don't think it's being debbie downer to call out what you see. Oilers keep winning so if anything my analysis has been correct more than notin the playoffs. I think the Oilers are going to the finals again. That's not debbie downer, that's just me calling it as I see it as the Jets and Stars don't look overly inspiring right now. I also hope to high heaven that I'm wrong of course.

Oilers didnt look great in games 2, 3, or 5 IMO
They got major breaks in 2 and 5 and I dont think Vegas looked good all playoffs
Jets look incredible at home but #### in the road. Goalie issues have been a concern for them. Dallas has already beat a better team than the Oilers, will be two should they meet. If it wasnt the Oilers but just some rando team I dont think they would be getting all these rave reviews.

My thoughts exactly. Now that they have all their top guys back, they should start to play better as a team as they get more practices in. Whether they actually do or not remains to be seen.

I wouldn’t mind the Jets winning it all. I’ll cheer for any one of the remaining Canadian teams. **** this 30- year drought.
