This would be a monumental Leafs if they screw this up somehow.

Is Giordano the oldest player in the league now?

The leafs aren't the oilers. They built this with integrity and the players themselves are likeable save Matthews. The fans aren't obnoxious and it's not their fault the media shoves them down our throats. If this is what's going to happen it's better than Edmonton.

At the end of the day, the call would not have been overturned as it was never conclusive. It's tough when the puck is in the air as various angles can play tricks on what you are seeing.
Was it likely a goal? Sure. Was it 100% conclusively a goal? No.

Plus the Leafs still have former recent Flames in Giordano, Brodie, Fletcher, and Jarnkrok.
I still dislike them, but nothing is as bad as the Oilers.

Next game is obviously huge but if the Leafs lose it, the pressure will start mounting up very quickly again. Game six would be back in Tampa and I doubt they want to go 0-3 at home against the Leafs. I can definitely see them screwing this up again

Yeah they never stole anything from the Flames as they had nothing to do with the non-review of the goal in game 6. Also the Flames were up 3-2 and couldn't win either of the last two games so to me it was more the Flames losing the series rather than the Lightning stealing anything.

This. And cheering for Gio and Brodie is pretty easy. Love those guys.
Not sure how anyone can harbor hard feelings for the leafs because their parents liked the habs, etc. I hated the habs for '86.

Not only that, but the kicking motion element was there too. As we know, it's been very inconsistant in the last few years, even with better angles. Genuinely unsure how the league would treat Gelinas skate motion there.

This Leafs team is very likeable. Putting aside bad memories of 2004, this Lightening team is also very likeable. The Lightening have Perry, who is easy to hate but also hard not to respect given his longevity and effectiveness, and other that him I don't really see anyone especially unlikeable on either team. I'm cheering for the Leafs to win this, but overall I've just really been enjoying watching two very good teams playing some excellent hockey.

I've always had a soft sport for Toronto teams as some of the best and most fun years of my life happened in Toronto, fresh out of university many, many years ago, so I'm very happy they won last night, bidding farewell to the trauma of, "it was 4-1" lol.
All the Leaf fans I know down here though suffer from crazy PTSD. Not one of them has confidence they'll come out of the first round even after last night haha. They're all expecting the very worst right now and so anxious for Wednesday.

That's probably the best approach to have as a fan anyways. If they win this series it will feel all the better.

Yup.
He is the oldest and Pavelski is the second oldest.

I would love to see him win a cup. What a great addition that would be to the story of an undrafted player like him. Even though he's not playing with as much flair as he did when still with the Flames, it's also great seeing how he's still obviously a trusted and reliable player on this team and playing a big part despite no longer being the star.

Nope. Don't like this at all. Would love to see Tampa come back and win this series.

There is no way Tampa loses tonight. Hopefully that is the right call or I lose all my money.

5 minutes in Tampa looks like they're on a PP. Which ultimately means they burn out and Leafs take it.

That was a great pass into the slot for that goal.
Wow, and just like that it's tied again.
