4th best record overall… hmm… what team received 39 out of their 109 points from the Pacifier Division… well… look at that… it was the Edmonton tOILEtS… Uhm… I mean Oilers.

Well the Panthers were .500 vs the Pacific so IDK
The only reason they are in the playoffs is because the Penguins choked against the Hawks amoung others. 92 points isn't a very good season.

Dude. I don’t know where you get your energy to pursue such an argument
The Panthers dug their way out of a hole, did what they had to do in the division they are in, and are now unfortunately overmatched against a historic team
How’d the Flames do against Chicago and Anaheim and Columbus
93 is better than 92, but at the same one may find it’s actually way ####ing worse

Such a dumb argument well we had more points.
Who cares we are in the west and it wasn't good enough.
Panthers are in the east and 92 was good enough.
Should we rearrange the world map so we play in the east to make people feel better?
By all metrics the right team in the west got in 8th place.

The Panthers were good enough to get the last wildcard spot in their conference and the Flames weren’t in theirs. Whoever had more points really doesn’t matter

Late in the game, and on the wrong end of a 5-2 score, Iginla fought Detroit's biggest defender.
Meanwhile, late in the game, and on the wrong end of a 5-2 score, Tkachuk tried to fight Boston's goalie.
Advantage: Iginla

Tkachuk vs. Iginla is no contest.
Tkachuk at 25 vs. Iginla at 25 in an actual hockey fight would also be no contest.

He's done everything he can this season. Not a lot of support right now. Duclair and Lundell have zero points. Verhaeghe, who had a great playoffs last year, has 1 point.
Barkov has been below average on offense because he has to defend so much and Ekblad is now injured.
Other than Bennett and Montour, there's not a lot of support right now. Those three are the team.

This is as big of a mismatch as there's ever been in the playoffs too - I'm not sure Steve Yzerman in his prime would've been able to lead the Panthers to more than one or two wins against this Bruins team. Tkachuk will be a PPG player in this series but the group of haters will say "Yeah, but the Panthers still lost, so clearly he doesn't have another gear in the playoffs"

He had 12 points and 4 goals last year in the playoffs in 12 games and he looked invisible in 10 of the 12.
His game 7 performance vs Dallas was his best in the playoffs as a Flame I was hoping having a big time game in the biggest game of his career would be what got him going and the hattrick vs Edmonton in game 1 but after that he was quiet as a mouse.
His issue is he really doesn't have to do all that extra garbage like he did with Klingberg last year to get going just play your game, but it takes away from his game and makes other teams play us harder.

After Tkachuk crosschecked Hathaway, Bennet comes in to spear him in the junk while he's laying on the ice

I'm glad I don't have to cheer for either of those two idiots anymore. Florida is making the Bruins look like the good guys, which is quite a feat

Are you guys going to use the same excuse for him the next 7 years?
He looks exactly the same as he did last year with us in the playoffs. and sure not many teams are going to beat Boston but at least try to make it competitive. They did it in the regular season.

Everyone knows the 4th win is the hardest to get, but given this is back in Boston, hard to see it going past 5.

What on earth are you talking about? Excuse for what?? Tkachuk has been consistently the Panthers best player this year, in the regular season and in the playoffs. His line is always the most dominant and the best one they have on the ice. He scored 109 points and is over PPG in the playoffs for them.
What a horrible hill to die on.

It's not even about the Flames...getting in with 92 is very fortunate...it will almost always be higher than that. They weren't very good this season so it's not surprising they are wasting 9 days. Also the historical team is missing their best player and another top end player. Honestly I don't think the Panthers could beat any playoff team except maybe the Islanders.
We set 96 points for snake for a reason
I have never said the Flames had a good season...if the Jets ended up with 92 and the Flames got in we would all be thanking baby Jesus the Jets blew it....that's what happened here call a spade a spade.
Anyway one game left and the Panthers can look forward to the draft...oh wait

To die on.... Are you new here? After last years playoffs most everyone on here was scared we would be stuck with a non-playoff performer with terrible skating and was going to be paid $9mil+.
It doesn't matter if he scores 200 points in the regular season. He still can't bring it in the playoffs and it's mostly due to his skating.
and you know he isn't doing well in this playoffs. Fanin80 hasn't fangirled on him since game 1... lol

I think it's less a hill, more of a mound.

I wished Tkachuk carried himself like Jarome
That was my hope when he was a Flame and when Sutter took over. That he would eventually grow out of it
Funny how Marchand hasn't really been involved in any of the antics in this series so far

I wish the Flames were "stuck" with Tkachuk. What a weird position you have. I think you thoughts are the outlier, not the norm around here, just FYI.
