I guess Baseball is random and anyone has a chance. But neither the DBacks or Marlins should have been playoff teams. But if MLB still had the 4 team playoff format there would have been very little on the line this weekend. But those two are pretty mediocre.

AL > NL, that's why those NL wildcard records are poor.

I expect they'll expand the playoffs at least once more. Diluting the product more doesn't matter as much as more money. Could see it at 9 teams a conference eventually.

In what could be a peak ump show moment. Joey Votto has been ejected in what could be his final game. How hard is it to not eject a future hall of famer?

I have no idea about the situation, but could it be a Votto set up to leave in an interesting way?
With Cabrera retired and Zack Greinke also likely retiring, it means the two remaining MLB players who had played against the Expos, are now out of the league.

From personal experience with a couple unions when I was younger, there's a huge question of corruption. Not all union members are treated equal. Competence and merit aren't their first order of business. Supporting their members under any circumstances are also not their first order of business. Many unions also play a political give and take with management which questions what's right and where they draw the line in the sand. Which is why all these guys go through so many union reps year after year. Undoubtedly over time unions have been great at workers rights but modern day I just find so many of them hit or miss on what they'll do for their people.
