I've tried being positive and patient, but when you get paid franchise defining money, you set the pace for what the team will be.

Huby I feel is starting to show signs of getting things together. But Weeger has been a major disappointment.

Even the NBC guys can't find much nice to say about the flames. But the word "struggle" comes up a lot.
I might be leaning towards Team Burn It Down.
This group, be it coaching, management, leadership is simply awful RN. And it doesn't seem to be improving any. Let's have a PP and show how incompetent we can be! Pass back to nobody! Give up Grade A chances to the other team! Throw the puck to....oh, away.
Hard to watch.
Hard to be excited about.
The pain in my left hip is more interesting than this game.
Can't see a comeback arriving in the 3rd.

Only cheer for and have ever cheered for the Flames. As hard as that is and has been.
But thanks for your random thought.

The Swedish Sieve is going to cost this team the season. Unbelievable he is still playing so poorly.

I’m at the game. Hanifin looks unconfident as usual. Second goal was all his fault. Turn over, sulks, doesn’t get back immediately they score on the rush.
They need to move on from the muffin king that is hanifin.
The only line that does much of anything against a tanking team is the backlund line.
At least kadri and Pelletier look ok. Huberdeau isn’t looking that bad but also not that great. A little consistent play from him would be nice.
Lindholm and toffoli look lost and out of sorts again. Lindholm has been a massive disappointment for me. People talking like he’s a number one center man and you get more efforts like this than not. Rough year for him. Rough year for us. The see saw season continues.
Markstrom and want at fault for the first two but the third would have been nice. Man deangelo is a dbag.
How many games where we outshoot them only to be down two ? This team is moribund. I will be happy once they are mostly moved out. Really low heart quotient.

When it happens once you can call it bad puck luck. When it happens every game it’s because your players don’t have enough skill to finish their chances.

This is what happens on any team with poor goaltending.
If this game is 1-1 then people are just frustrated with the lack of finish.
Even if it's 2-1 people probably are annoyed and mad at the PP.
But when it's 3-1 then the entire team sucks and it needs to be blown up.
But really the only reason it's 3-1 is because Markstrom has let in 3 goals on 1.69 xGF and got bailed out by a dman on a 4th.
Goalies can make bad teams look good and they can make good teams look bad...and IMO this Flames team falls into that latter category this year.
Still not sure they'd be a cup contender but even with a .905 save percentage they'd comfortably he a playoff team.

He's about to set the NHL record for the biggest drop off in points from one full season to the next.
He had a great game vs the Rangers... but like the rest of the team, moral victories don't ####ing matter when the team isn't scoring or winning games. Huberdeau should be a PP specialist and good for a big goal or assist every game. Instead he's been mostly invisible, or noticeable for making awful decisions with the puck.
Given his skillset, there's some hope that he could have a big rebound season next year... but jesus christ what a disaster so far.

Only if you measure defensive play strictly on points.
Because by any other metric than points he's been comfortably a top 20 dman again this year.

And don’t get me started on the pp. muller really isn’t coaching this group to their strengths.

To produce more offensively. Anderson is the only player on the defense that has done that. Add that to the list of reasons why Flames have underperformed this season.
The top players have been far removed from being the top players.

So is Kadri. All the new guys are under-performing, and are signed to a long term deal. With a different play style (i.e. coach change), I can see the Florida guys improve, but I think what we see from Kadri is what he is. It's time for a new GM.
