He's got 9 points in 11 games, and he's a minus 2. That negative +/- tells more about the difference in his experience on the ice there than the points do.

If something doesn't change pretty soon there's going to be a lot of the fanbase looking back wistfully on the halcyon days of when we had the best top line in the league.

Winning makes everything better. If the team starts winning again (as I expect they will) then it won't matter who is or is not in the League's top-60.

Gaudreau will have Bedard as linemate soon. It’s gonna be fun

On the contrary, last year's team may have been too dependent on the top line to do most of the scoring. When they disappeared against the Oilers, the team was done in. Regular season success means very little if you can't get the job down when it matters most.

Panthers record isn't even very good considering their ridiculously easy schedule... Tkachuk's strong start aside they certainly don't look improved at the moment

Losing their top two D from last year has helped with that. (Although, I don't really know if Ekblad is back yet or not.)

He missed a massive chunk of last season too

They have played 2 teams that made the playoffs last season and lost both

And today JG is a minus 3, down 4-1 in the second game of their back to back to Colorado with more than 30 min to play in the game. I wonder if he would of made this rash decision to sign with The BJ’s if he knew they were flying across the pond to play a double header to the Stanley Cup Champions in Finland.

And people can also remember that the contract he signed years ago, he basically forced the door half open to allow the option for him to leave the city this offseason as he did.

JG struggled with and probably will regret internally his option to leave town becuase a big part of him did want to be here his whole career. Tkchauk didn't want to be here and he planned to leave town in Summer 2022 from the time he signed the last deal; big money and an extension wasn't going to keep him here at all, so he won't regret his move at all.

Gaudreau is back to being a total floater...hard to argue that he just didn't want to put the work in anymore....likely the biggest plus/minus differential year to year in NHL history too.

Gaudreau has 9 points in 12 games. He's scored points in only 7 games though because he had two multipoint games. So basically a non factor in 5 of 12 games.
I do think he may need time to learn the system and build chemistry but so far the hockey gods are making him pay.

His average ice time is only a smidge behind those guys. Meanwhile, he leads the entire Coyotes roster in GF% and xGF%, and by quite a bit too.

Letting him go may prove to be a mistake. However, it appears the team's hands were tied from a cap perspective.

Here's hoping that Kylly is back at some point this season...

Feel bad for johny. He made a massive career decision by what's best for his family not what was best for his career and I respect it. It was obviously a tough decision to lose his legacy in calgary. I can gurantee he doesnt want to be in a ####ty team. No one does.

Would be crazy if cbj actually got bedard. Johny-bedard-laine could be a nutty line.

Not really fair to compare huberdeau directly to chucky. It wasn't 1 for 1 for a reason. Chucky is entering his prime and huberdeau is leaving it. Chucky chose the panthers and huberdeau found out after. Need to compare the entire package, which is very difficult in the short term.

The real comparisons will be made in the spring...after last season who even cares about individual points? Gaudreau, Huberdeau, Tkachuk, all outscored every Avalanche player...what did that get them?

Which team is better prepared to win when it actually counts?

CBJ sucks
Calgary and Florida look okay so far

As mentioned in the OOT thread, Tkachuk with a dumb (and dangerous) play late in the game against LA. It appears he jabbed his stick towards Quick and it ended up going through his mask, hitting him in the face? It doesn’t look like Quick left the game or that Tkachuk was penalized as we was involved in a skirmish at the end of the game as well. Suspension seems possible, if not likely.

Panthers lost 5-4.

Yep, that's a dumb play. Not his first, not his last. Still wanted Brad to give him $13 million AAV and the use of a private jet whenever he wanted to go to the beach.

If Chucky gets suspended for this, the league is incredibly full of #%^*. Jamie Benn made more than one “stab” at Mangiapane’s face and the piece of trash only got a $5K fine.

If he could learn where to draw the line a little better, and skate a lot better, I would've given him the private jet.
