This goalie is getting pretty lucky in some ways too...the Johnny shot hits the top of his stick, he isn't even trying to play at all...just unfortunate.
Shesterkin got shelled in the last few games and finally broke down and let in a bunch. Oettinger might have a shutout so far, but he can’t withstand that kind of pressure for a full 60 minutes, so let’s stick to the plan and keep pushing.

I can't believe how unlucky we've been with rebounds. In previous games we weren't stopping in front of the net, so we weren't getting rebounds, but now we are and the puck is just hopping over stick blades.
I heard on the radio this afternoon that our shooting percentage is 3%. That's got to start to move back to the mean at some point.

Liked seeing Stone rough up Pavelski late in the period. Something I thought we acquired Gudbranson and Zadorov to do...
When the lineup announcement came I was joking with my friends about how Darryl was like "Alright you apes. Imma bring someone old school in. Someone who will put the fear of God in them again. Lemme bring in someone OG to show you whelps how its done"
Lol so far he's sent someone crumpled to the ice with his cannon and has bullied Pavelski in the corner. I like it.

I'm thinking of the one that bounced right around both Mangiapane and Coleman close to the end of the period.

Johnny in particular is still second guessing himself. If he can overcome that and just play naturally it will all start to click. I am hoping that this intermission, after the big hit and a couple of clutches in the first, can be his wake up.
Lucic did more work as an effective center in that period then our 2c has in a calendar month. Great work to get Toffoli by standing in there, something our 2c rarely does.
Too bad Toffoli had to take the split second to pull it around, preventing him from having a bit more time to get it higher.

I’m waiting for the law of averages to kick in.
