I'm 100% okay with overpaying and more term if it means the Flames are finally going all in. In order to justify a contract to Markstrom that is likely going to have 2 bad years on the end, the Flames need to solidify the top 6.

Hall would be nuts. I'd be pretty happy with Toffoli/Barrie too.

I think there is a domino effect to signings. The Oilers signing Turris and Quine signified that they were out of the running for Markstrom. Likewise, I think the Flames moving on UFA defensemen and forwards will stall until the Markstrom deal is done.
