Man that's a big missed call by Dean and VAR.

Well if it wasn't evident last week, it certainly is now. This isn't a title team.

I didnt see it, but analysts are saying its a coin-toss as to whether its a penalty or not.

Probably not. Playing against teams that park the bus is often an indicator of whether or not a team can really compete for a title. You have to be able to break those teams down, as a Liverpool fan I can attest to that frustration, not long ago the creativity of a guy like Coutinho was seen as critical to unlocking buses.
But lower ranked teams are going to do that and you have to have guys that will find a way through, get a couple goals and force them to play.
For Spurs that guy is Eriksen, seeing as he seems intent to leave and only got a half hour and even then can be inconsistent.
Toe-to-Toe, Spurs can play. Harvesting the lower end of the table for points? Thats going to be tougher.

I'm not as concerned about the lack of creativity/scoring as I am the back 4. KWP looks like he has the tools but just needs to the tool box. Rose was better today but he is who he is at this point. Sanchez was been woeful the past two games.

I dont think anyone can really judge things at the moment, 3 games into the season
The team spurs put out there today to start was missing at least 4, maybe 5 or 6 of who would be the best starting xi by say october. Dont even think in creating chances they were all that bad, the xg was like 1.7 I think, plus what should have been a clear cut pen anyday
I literally have no clue what mike dean was doing today, he seems to think var is the ref now and hes just out there having a sunday run about. On the penalty decision, he pointed to the var right after the incident, he didnt want to make a call either way there
But like I was saying about knowing teams even city had a flattering scoreline today, on the counter they were getting cut through easily, liverpool deservedly won yesterday, but it could have very easily been 2-0 arsenal within 30 mins.
United on the other hand get played off the pitch by chelsea for 40 minutes and win 4-0, then dominate palace and lose, pogba was incredible, I know he's getting deserved stick for that giveaway at the end, but he ran the show with very little help around him in my yesterday.

Funny, because I was thinking it didn't take the table long to sort itself out.
Liverpool and City at the top fighting it out with a gap to the also rans.

I watched this game late and that was super disappointing. How does that penalty not get called? I mean he took Kane out, clearly and made zero attempt to play the ball. Under what justification is that anything other than a penalty? What's the point of VAR if that goes uncalled? And what's the point of Mike Dean?
Oh well. Spurs just couldn't breakdown what was an unreal performance by a team that still almost surely gets relegated. Terrible to watch, but I don't doubt we see something along those lines 32 more times this season.

Sky should be ashamed of themselves. A lot of jobs are on the line at Bury and Bolton and their fans go through hell today, yet they treat this like some sort of transfer deadline including a countdown clock. Not that I'm surprised that they take a dire situation and turn it into entertainment, but man, that still stings.

That's gotta hurt for the Nevilles.
Their old man was heavily involved with the club and the main stand is named after him. Neville Neville.

Both teams started the season with a 12 points deduction, but things got so dire that Bury had to cancel all games so far this season and Bolton is unable to run operations now too. Both clubs need to get a takeover over the line today in order to save the clubs, but it's a race against the clock.
it's sad, really. Bury has a 134 year old history and Bolton was a top 10 PL club only 15 years ago, it'd be a shame if all of that was wiped out.

Sadly, I'm a little happy about Bolton.
When they were a PL club they became associated with the Club I volunteered for here in Calgary and they sent a Youth team coach and some players and they were just gigantic pricks.
So hopefully their asses were the first ones out the door.

the Alexis Sanchez loan to Inter is a done deal, according to Romano. Inter will cover around 40 percent of his wages.

On one hand glad he's gone for the year, whilst on the other hand surprised he's gone.
Leaves the squad thin up front. I had him pencilled in as a seat filler for Thursday night trips to obscure places and whatever the league cup is called games.
Lots of opportunities coming up.

Apparently Zlatan has made himself available to United after his Galaxy season finishes.
I'm for it. He can reign in Pogba, and provide needed leadership.

Some good news, apparently Inter is paying 60%
Quote:
It is understood that United will pay about £6 million of Sánchez’s wages during the loan spell, with Inter footing the remaining £9.64 million.

The Sanchez transfer is a prime example of every party to it (other than agents) losing out.
Arsenal, Man U and Sanchez all lost out in a big way.
Ignoring that ridiculously large contract.

yeah, I wouldn't mind that. A lot better than the Llorente rumours, but Solskjaer shot that down already, thank god.

Ozil was a winner in it.
Sat tight. Let Sanchez be the bad cop then used his wages as bargaining power.
Unless you consider that he had to stay at Arsenal.
