Thanks tips...Oilers don't play until Wednesday night

IF the Flames lose their next two and the Oilers win then they will be three back at the end of Wednesday night. You were being dramatic.

Mister, I gotta keep putting square pegs in round holes!!! For the love of God Brad, realize you made a mistake hiring this guy, cut your losses and GET RID OF HIM!!!!
I get that people hate GG, but it just makes people sound silly when they don't take the situation at hand into play. People do realize that the Bennett line was the line that drew the penalty right? He was already a minute into the shift and came back onto the second half of the PP. He or Jankowski weren't an option at the start of the PP.

I can't recall a game where Gulutzan used a timeout to change the momentum in a game. I'm curious as to whether he likes saving timeouts for video reviews or just doesn't believe in that kind of intervention. I wish the media would ask him that.

In his post game he was asked about the nervousness, how to address it and he said you have to talk about it put it on the table. I guess that means during practice and video - not in game.

I feel like I have to repeat this but I'm not on the fire Gulutzan train. I do want to know what the coach can/will do during games to counter bad situaitons ie tactically or motivationally. Or does he not believe he can do those things in the heat of battle, meaning he needs the video for teaching moments.

Maybe he is a bit too cerebral and he needs a little more visceral in the moment gut action.

I'm upset at the entire organization for:

-not addressing the season long inconsistency
-seemingly not having answers for the problems plaguing the team
-not communicating that here is what's wrong, here's what were doing about it
-overall stubborness
-no damn leadership. no accountability

I don't get the sense that this organization hates to lose. I'm sure they want to win but there is a difference.

Also, over the course of an 82 game regular season, there are some games that are more important than others. HNIC against your fiercest rivals would be at or near the top of the list.

The other thing about last night and Tuesday against the Leafs, is having to endure opposing fans. It's all good fun when things are at least competitive, but when your team doesn't even show up, and you have to endure the unbridled revelry of the opposing fans, twice in 5 days, it gets pretty frustrating.

Telling others they take things too seriously probably isn't the most useful comment.
they won a game in between there. i dont know man, i look at the standings and see them in the thick of a really tight western conference and dont think the season ended last night. yeah it sucks the oilers seem to have the flames' number recently, but a bunch of obnoxious coiler fans making the dome a home game for them doesn't drive me to wanting the coaching staff dismissed and shipping our entire defense core minus gio out of town

This might sound silly, but this morning last thing I dreamed before waking was checking the score of the game. In my dream the final score was 7-4 Oilers.

(For context, note that I live in Helsinki, so I was going to watch the game first thing in the morning.)

Obviously it's a coincidence that I had it that close in my dream, but it made me realize that I have a lot less faith in this team than I've been telling myself. I was ready to reassess what I think about the team before the game, and the lack of rose colored glasses made me see pretty clearly what an absolute mess the game really was.

Yup, they beat the mighty Coyotes - is that your justification for supporting Gulutzan? Because you otherwise avoided my question.

Having the Flames play like crap against their biggest rival doesn't bother you that much - great, good for you. But coming on here and telling others they shouldn't care so much is just so pointless.

I feel like GG is half of a great coach. He's a smart guy and good communicator, but when it comes to motivation and player usage...no good. Enough is enough, barring an insane turn around, and lengthy playoff run. I think we see a new coach next year. Would be nice to get rid of him now, but there isn't much out there for replacements, Sutter and Huska pretty much.

They should beg Darryl Sutter to come back as the coach.

I don't know about the rest of you but I am really getting tired of this team being a constant and consistent source of disappointment in my life.

No matter what, for the last 30 years they always find a way to be a pathetic failure. This year so far is really taking the cake though.

The way they played after game 20 last year, add Hamonic, career years from the top line so far and actual above average goaltending, yet they still fumble#### their way to sad pathetic mediocre disappointing results.

Sometimes I wonder why I keep following sports at all.

It's been a tough 7 days starting with the Stamps last Sunday and culminating with that sorry performance by the Flames last night. They say that losses build character, well I have oodles of character then.

Pfft, I have also been a Detroit Lions fan since 1990. I don't know what to do with all the character I have built.
