Really settled things down in the last few minutes of the period. Canucks pushed hard and given the circumstances of the game it's probably serving as extra motivation, but I think the Flames will shut things down now and close out strong.
Chad was excellent in making the stops when the team needed.

Okay, I'm not sure of your point. If you're just letting me know what happens in a game thread then I'm pretty clear on how they work. If you're defending how toxic it gets when we're not playing perfect then sure, but that was my point.... it sucks and I wish people could be even slightly more measured in their posts.

Stajan having a very uncharacteristically bad performance in the faceoff dot in this one.
Would be nice to see him get back to winning more draws in the 3rd period tonight. I think he's only won 1 faceoff so far.

I still believe the Flames will win. This game has been thrilling, I am entertained.

Surprised I'm the only one wanting Kylington and Rasmus to get a look after this #### show. Engelland has looked like nothing more than a #7 Dman, the back end need some youth. Wideman is a liability almost every game, Joki hasn't had a good game all season, Wotherspoon is just bleh, Kylington would give this team much needed speed and quickness our defense does not have on the bottom lines. I don't care if they are young they are better than what we have

They are definitely NOT better than what we have.
Yet.
Patience, they're both a year or two away.

No PP's for the Flames yet, they need to get their feet moving in the 3rd and force the Canucks to take a penalty.
Backlund leads forwards in TOI after 2, Brodie leads all d-men. (Among Flames, not all skaters I should add)

Dude no disrespect, but if you watched Kylington in the world juniors (maybe you did), I'm not sure how anyone could be vouching for the guy to get a look in the NHL any time soon.

Your critique of the Flames defence is fairly accurate. Still, I have a hard time believing that rookies are going to help Stabalise the Flames defence.

Yeah Sportsnet, I bet Flames and Canucks fans want to watch a Gretzky interview during the intermission.

i agree with this mainly. every time i pay attention to wideman, engelland, and jokipakka on the ice i see them losing puck battles over and over, unable to make a pass to spark the transition, bleeding chances against. not sure if rookies are the solution though

Kylington stills looks way too raw but it wouldn't surprise me if Andersson comes up and down a bit next year

The point is just that people are commenting on the present game play. I didn't think it was that exceedingly toxic. Just when Bennett or Gaudreau go something stupid, that's what is going to be commented on. Even if we are winning, Gaudreau diving or his blind passes to nowhere are going to get called out. In the next moment when one of them does something amazing you will see a similar opposite reaction. You see the same thing when we are winning or losing by huge margins too. Stupid and great plays by players are called out. Now if it is the PGT then fine, it should be more tempered after a win / loss. There is a different dynamic going on while the game is on. I admit I don't spend a lot of time absorbing anything here though. I just read a posts and go on until the end unless there is something to reply to, or say. Though, watching on the NHL app, I feel like I have to hold off because of the delay.
