I would say David Jones is a very good depth winger. When he is playing a gritty north-south game, he is fairly effective. Gets to the tough areas, plays a style that is tough to contain, and ends up putting up decent points.

The problem is that he often will get injured, and then starts to shy away from those areas and becomes more of a perimeter player. Colorado fans told us to expect this when we traded for him, and I would say that this indeed was what we have seen thus far from him - highly effective for short spurts, kind of invisible for long stretches.

With that being said, he doesn't 'suck' - still a fairly big body that is difficult to contain and (at times anyways) helps to drive possession. I would anticipate the Wild fanbase actually liking this trade for their playoff drive, as he will probably be the 'good' version of David Jones until the Wild's season is over.
