Loup with 12 pitches. 10 balls, 1 strike and 1 hit. Brutal but the only LH in the pen.

Umping equally bad for both teams. He's been calling that a strike all night.

Poor Goins. Looks like he's about to tear up in this interview. I'm not sure how there's not more fights between reporters and players when they are lining you up and taking shots minutes after you've just left the field.

Gibbons has really been exposed these playoffs. The guy is trying to manage a regular season game still. There are no roles in the playoffs. Starters can't be trusted late in the game - look at how many times Kershaw has cruised and blown up in the 7th inning.
Gibbons didn't even have anyone ready to go when Price started to get beat around. I don't care how well he pitched and what his pitch count was. Its the 7th inning you have to have an option ready in case things go south. There's an offday tomorrow so there's zero concern about rest.
And then he doubles down and leaves Loup in there to blow up while Osuna hasn't entered the game. Playing for a save in a playoff game - its a joke.

i don't mind leaving Price in but I hate managers who just sit there and let huge innings go by too quickly. Dusty Baker was another famous one like this (Bartman inning).
Even if Gibbons doesn't take Price out, he's gotta go out and talk to him, or send the pitching coach out. Slow the inning down, let Price and the defender breathe. Next thing you know, 5 runs just scored.

Pete Walker did go out, after the first run to make it 3-1. Fox didn't show it though.
Bases loaded, with the vets, in the top of the 6th, Price cruising, 1 out after Martin Walks.
Pillar pops out and Goins dribbles out to first in his last at bat in the game...that was as much of a turning point as any blame people are trying to put on Price for the 7th, but far behind the Goins gaffe, as the reason for today's loss.

The Royals are built for their ballpark, home field could be the difference in this series.
Will the last last weekend collapse to the Rays come back and haunt them? Hopefully not.

Looks really bad now since Jays are a slugging team. More comfortable to outscore you when deep bombs are favourable, rather than grind it out with strong defense and take advantage of the small opportunities they get.
Hopefully they can take advantage of home field and return to KC and try to get one (or two if necessary) there.

Agree Jobo but it looked bad after game 2 of the ALDS as well.Call me crazy but I'm not worried, this years Jay's team just feels like a team of destiny.

Turrible game from the jays. But the way I look at it with the teams so evenly matched, the royals won the games they're supposed to.

Wow, what happened? I had to go to a function after the 6th, and thought we were totally in control. I'm almost scared to look at the highlights!

Need to win game three and then (assuming the Royals stick to the 3 man rotation) beat up on the Royals starters a second time around. I'm a diehard fan but losing tonight has me conceding this series isn't looking great for us. That said, if any lineup can do it, it's ours. Should be fun in TO.

Jays look like a slow starting / slow adapting type of team. Game 1 of both series were really bad with Game 2 showing better results. Not having home field advantage is probably for the best - not wasting game 1 and 2 against the Royals and having to go back to that large ballpark and attempt a 3-game comeback.

Amazing story and I have such huge respect for Stroman. Having gone through a similar surgery a lot of this hit home with me. Laying awake a night because of the pain, having to wear crazy contraptions (including the identical one he refers to) to straighten the leg.
The comeback was epic. In continues tomorrow.

Looking forward to Stroman picking up his first post-season W tomorrow. It will be very much deserved.
Also, if Marcus is the Stroshow then dad is the gun show -- his biceps are probably bigger than both my thighs put together.
