I had a Mexican burrito last night and left over Chinese take out for breakfast... the dump I took this afternoon is worth more then HF's opinion of, well, anything.
Been a decade since I was last there, is Buffaloed still in charge there?

Nah i think Babcock's legacy is important to him. I cant see him attaching that to turd town, McDavid or not.

Babcock won't work under Lowe or MacT. I firmly believe that one of the biggest reasons Toronto cleaned house as much as they did, is because Babcock wants to bring in his own people.
He's in Toronto next year, 100%.

This is the era we live in. Fans of the worst sports team ever are mocking the Flames for making the playoffs and losing out on a chance at McDavid.

I don't know how the Oilers can mock the Flames for what they have done this year.
This year was made easier for them to swallow though. Sure the Flames are in the playoffs but they are getting a player that by all accounts will be the best player in the game in 4-5 years.
I hate the Oilers get one last win like this after being a joke of a sports franchise.

If I'm McDavid, I go into full insult mode. Insult Edmontonians, the City, the Players, the Management... just trash them at every chance publicly like an insult comic, and claim he is going to throw games, in the hopes they pass on him. There is no rule saying you can't do that.

One thing I was just thinking about, remember the Erie Otters are essentially going bankrupt thanks to Daryl Katz basically being a major ######.
Depending on how close Connor was to the owner, and how he saw Daryl treat the owner or stories he heard...perhaps that was part of the reason he looked less than thrilled to see the Oilers win that lottery.
Wouldn't it be perfect karma if the little game that Katz played with the Otters, the city of Hamilton etc eventually end up with them losing McDavid.

As much as I'd love for him to say no to Edmonton, I think this would be worse for us. Imagine the assets headed Edmonton's way if they had to trade McDavid... Scary.
We're better off them selecting him, and continuing to believe they can win hockey games 6-5 every night.

Toronto winning doesn't seem too bad now does it? What I wouldn't give to have had the Leafs win...
This is bar none the worst result that could have happened. It's like a crazy sick dream ha ha.

Monahan and Bennett will turn RNH and McDavid into 3 year old kids stumbling for the puck and then crying for ice cream from their daddies when they get crushed. As long as guys like Hall and Eberle have prominent positions on that team they are doomed to a painful fury death.

That might actually be a nice trump card for McDavid.
He can publicly denounce he does not want to be drafted by Edmonton based on that. And even if Edmonton still does, we will still be able mock them that the only reason McDavid is playing there, is because they basically have him chained to a furnace in their basement.
Also another component to this. I will almost guarantee, some disgruntled GM out there is going to offer him like a 15 million dollar contract when he is a RFA, forcing the Oilers to match it, and essentially handicapping them cap wise.

That's nice, really nice but the bottom line is that guys like Hall and Eberle will still stumble around defensively, Nurse will be overwhelmed and the Oilers will still be one of the lowest scoring teams in the NHL due to their incredible stupid blueline Nurse or not.
Even with the mighty Mcdavid the Oilers yo just ain't that cool.

on the plus side it will be funny when they still miss the playoffs next year with him in the lineup...also the fact they are capped out with no goal tender or D

If how about when. They think that Nelson is a good coach, look at how much they bled when he took over, they still were terrible without the puck.
I want them to keep Nelson, when the Oilers have playoff pressure they'll blow apart faster then a 50 year old spare tire.
