OT isn't the end of the world if VAN wins. It's obviously not ideal.
But
VAN wins in OT or reg, LA and CGY win tomorrow, then CGY can still clinch with a win on Thursday since LA could catch on points but CGY has tie breaker.
LA in OT would be killer.

Exactly. Every team has a stretch where they lament points lost. Ask a Jets fan how much it hurt to give up those late 3rd period goals to lose in regulation. Those could have been 2-4 points extra, which would have the Jets clear of a playoff spot right now.
