I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

They're not going to make any deal until the deadline. He won't change the core. He won't trade draft picks (good choice).
Why would any Oiler fan go watch any games for the rest of the year? Serious question. Nothing will change anywhere until the deadline and then the summer, what's the point in spending any money to sit there and watch a bad team play hockey. Unless you're a fan of the visiting team?
They're playing better visually and lead the league in moral victories, the question is why would anyone not want to watch an Oilers game?

There hasn't been any reason to watch the Oilers for years actually. Well, other than for the hilarity of it all.
At least in the past there was hope of change for the fans. After today? Nothing in the near future.
Leon will probably stay with the big club.
The core is developing/evolving.
Eakins isn't going anywhere.
Won't trade draft picks.
Trades are tough to make these days.
He basically said they're not doing anything. They're going to go through the motions until next season. Why pay to watch the team when you know it's going to be the same old.......or worse?? I think we're going to see a LOT of empty seats from here on.
The funny thing is that it was probably Lowe that told him he had to have a press conference to try and improve the media and fan temperament. MacTavish probably knew that he was basically going out there just to be mocked.

The huge disconnect is 'all the coaches we've had give the same message' and 'the core needs to execute better' Does he really not get that if they cant do what the coaches ask of them...they shouldnt be core players.
Pure gold as a Flames fan (other than the prospect of McDavid heading up there).
Coaches = good/ highly sought after
Core = good/developing accountability (?)
peripheral players = good/changed out 14+ players, got Poulliot/Nikitin!
Management = good (only at it 20 months, sees growth)
Ownership = mad, but good with coaches/management - stay the course
Conclusion = Edmonton is no good.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
