So what you are saying to the George V married his grandmother? Queen Vic married Prince Albert (a german ) much like her own mother (a german).... Since Queen Vic married a german from the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, that meant everyone else going forward belong to the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha ...George V (queen vics grandson) changed the name to "Windsor" from his german sounding name of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha during the first world war to make his family seem more british than german, since his country was at war with Germany who was controlled by the Kaiser, which happened to be George V's cousin....which also meant the Kaisers grandmother was also Queen Vic
George V's son Edward VIII ... some argue was removed from the throne not because he wanted to marry a twice divorced american, because well he had a hard time disconnecting from his German roots and was a Hitler/Nazi sympathizer
