There's definitely something to be said for the tired, drained desperate hockey teams play in deep deep OT playoff games. I also enjoy them greatly. Some of the best hockey I have ever seen is in a series that is deeply entrenched in long battles. I think there was a Buffalo series that was absolutely grueling and it was fantastic hockey.

1994 Buffalo versus New Jersey. Went seven game and it was war. Amazing series.

Yeah, there have definitely been some great ones, but most of the really long ones are great for the first OT, then terrible for the rest of the periods. I dont mind the odd one, but my wish is to see great hockey...not long hockey. Maybe if it was the Sens/Habs or Pens/Isles series....definitely wouldn't have stuck around for Detroit/Ducks.

This.

When our chance to draft closer to 20 in this upcoming draft is on the line I would rather it not go to overtime at all.

Doughty with 33 mins tonight.

Reggie at 25+.

Nice to see Sutter still relying on Regehr for big minutes on such a good team.

Bouw. Team GF 2, team GA2. What a difference maker. Could say he hasn't hurt but he hasn't helped.

The last GA he did wave at the game winner.

That was an incredible series. Another hard series with the final 2 games going into OT was the 2004 Flames-Canucks thriller. The 2003 Leafs-Flyers was another grueling 7 game series with 3 games going into at least double OT.

Other division leaders Anaheim and Washington have a chance to lose as well.

Hopefully we get a final four with no division winners, or the Blues in it.
Canucks were the first div winner to be booted out of the playoffs. to have no div winner in the semi-finals would mean the Bhawks losing which is doubtful.

What a crock.

Bonus??
That's a bingo and MacLean's bonus talk is horse . It is big time lame that HNIC can't show the defending Stanley Cup champions. Just terrible and bonus coverage sounds so 90s.

STL just doesn't seem to be a contender to me. A very good team, with many good players, but no great players. They are missing an elite player or two. A game breaker. A Star.

Pietrangelo had a little bit of an off year, but he's a top 5 D in this league.

But they do lack a point per game forward.

2 now ! But that was a brutal goal and Elliot's fault. Despite the weird man-crushes on 'Hitch' , the 'neutral' stats belie that he brings not much to the table . No offence . No hits no toughness no anything. Yeah maybe a minute muncher , but a total weakling and real soft

People are counting out St. Louis way too early. Still think they win this series.

Not to discount it because the games are tight, but... Gutsy prediction given Quick's contributions to their wins, which he appears to have ironed out

My heart says Blues, but our draft pick says Kings.

Go Kings! Wings are beating the Ducks as we speak too. Good night for our draft pick.
