A playoff tradition will continue this weekend - for the first time since 2003 (the last time the 49ers made the playoffs) the end zones will be painted red.

The first time they painted the end zone red was the game when the famous "Red Right Tight - Sprint Right Option" aka The Catch happened (30 years ago this past Tuesday - Jan 10, 1982)

I don't follow any team - but I'm hoping for the Saints - I will be in New Orleans during Superbowl and that would be a pretty cool party I would imagine

I guess he got lucky with some big plays but if this is any other QB and not the chosen one then they are get ripped apart for their pathetic performance, especially on the back of two of the worst QB games of all time to end the season.
And a ridiculous 15.05 yards per attempt - a true measure of a QB's efficiency.

It's very typical moon to cherry pick the stats that suit your opinion and ignore the rest. And when something good happens (big plays) it's all just lucky.

I'm not Tebow defender, but the guy played a great game and was a major reason why they won (and that's not something you can say about him often).

You can't deny the 5 or 6 consecutive dramatic comebacks from Tebow there's no luck involve.

Packer fans show up in droves to shovel out the bleachers in advance of Sudays game....this is the West side of the stadium...the entrance is on the South end.

Pictures like that really capture
a) how crazy Packers fans are
b) how rinkydink Green Bay really is. Always astounding how they've been so successful from such a small city, being able to pull support from so far away.

Flacco is under a tonne of pressure this year. I think he does a decent job of making light of it with his sarcastic responses in these articles, but I still think it is wearing on him. If nothing else, these articles are kind of interesting to read.

For Sundays games here are my predictions

New England 27 Denver 17

Denver will be able to run the ball, and I don't think we'll see the turn overs that plagued them the first time around. As a result New Englands chances on offence will be limited, hence why they only put up a "meagre" 27 points. The last two teams who pounded the ball and defended well against them in the playoffs beat them...Denver can do these two things, so I don't think I'm disrespecting the Patriots by only letting them win by 10.

Baltimore 23 Houston 10
I simply do not like a rookie QB going up against the Ravens defence at home. The Ravens offence also plays much better at home than on the road. Texans D will keep this one close, but eventually Yates will turn the ball over and the Ravens will take advantage of it.

Green Bay 31 New York 28
I think the Giants can keep the rematch close because having Jacobs and Bradshaw both healthy makes them more dynamic on offence. The Giants defensive line is also healthier than it's been in weeks, and having a 4 man front that can pressure a pass happy offence is key. Still the Packers have enough weapons in the passing game that Rogers will be able guide his team to a win.

New Orleans 24 San Francisco 22
Another good game featuring contrasting styles. I think San Fran will move the ball between the 20's and eat up some clock, but I think ultimately they'll end up kicking too many field goals. The Saints won't have their best day on offence, but they have enough weapons that they'll be able to get into the end zone enough to win this game to get a rematch at Lambeau.

So the 2 NFC playoff games look to be very different field conditions. The weather in SF has been sunny and warm (mid to upper teens Celsius) and is expected to be that right through the weekend.

Some fans were wanting the team to really water the field to slow down the Saints but it has already been announced that the field will not be over watered.

At Lambeau Field, Packers are 7-1 in playoff games that are 30 degrees or warmer; 6-1 in games in the 20s

Gametime Forecast: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of snow, high around 30 degrees, moderate winds
