Looking to make a quick trip over the Labour Day long weekend. Sept 4 -7th.
Anyone spot any deals?
|
Hard to find deals on long weekends, here's what I can see
Kelowna $286
Vancouver $366
Orlando $401 (not a quick trip but an ok price for a long weekend)
Vegas $485
Yeah, not really seeing anything too great.

Calgary to London Gatwick - $576 CDN
August 27th or 28th to September 17th
Thomas Cook airlines. Can book at http://www.canadianaffair.ca
Or if you'd prefer to come back earlier, you can come back on September 11th or 13th through Manchester (still Gatwick for the outbound flight). Same price.

For all you west coasters, flights from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) just dropped to $211 USD all in (Delta, Northwest, AirTran)
Looks like any date from now until next June, except for around the Christmas holidays as usual.

It's not quite in *amazing deal* territory for me yet, but I noticed that there are a few select flights to Johannesburg, South Africa for $1279 USD.
Relative to how far you're flying from Calgary, this price makes it one of the Top 10 cheapest places to fly in the world. South Africa is *almost* as far as you can get from YYC. Nearly 20,000 miles roundtrip!
(I think Madagascar, just to the NE of South Africa, is the furthest airport in the world from YYC)
Anyways, this deal can be found through KLM airlines. You have a stopover in Amsterdam for 24 hours on the way there.
Here are some 2 week dates that are available...
Nov 9 - 25
Nov 11 - 27 (return flight is on NWA)
Dec 25 - Jan 10 <<< Christmas gift idea

For our Edmonton friends...
Edmonton to Philly $350 USD on United
Tons of dates in Sep/Oct/Nov
About 50% less than it costs to fly from YYC at the moment.

Any deals from Calgary to the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas? We were thinking sometime in late September. Ideally from Sept. 27-30, but Air Canada or Westjet don't have any flights on the departure date.
Thanks!

A member of the Facebook group messaged me and told me that WestJet has something called 'late night booking'.
"my bf got a flight to regina for 29 plus tax last month . Between 11-3am"
Anyone know anything about this?

Another one of those weird fares to Gillette, Wyoming (aka middle of nowhere)
YYC to GCC
$173 USD (return, incl all taxes) on United - September 12th to 15th.
Stops in Denver. Could use it as a cheap way to get to Denver, but airlines frown upon skipping out on legs, so you might not be able to get back

It's not a flight but it's a heckuva deal - wish I had the vacation days left to take it!
Check out the Frommer's website to get more details but it's essentially $1,299 USD for a 17-day Panama Canal repositioning cruise INCLUDING airfare to San Diego & from Baltimore. Aboard the Oct. 23rd sailing of the Celebrity Mercury.

JerzeeGirl: Good for those who live in Baltimore ?
Or do you mean with airfare from YYC to Baltimore (roughly $500-600 USD per person) it would still be a good deal?
Any idea what the cruise costs without airfare?

I'm guessing she means fly YYC to San Diego, do the cruise, then fly back Baltimore to YYC.
