what is interesting is i recall a few years ago they showed the Russian influence on a lot of popular alt-right news sources. Some is overt direct ownership by Russians, others had significant funding from Russian sources, and others were listed by intelligence sources as known disinformation vehicles for the Russian state.
My question has always been whether the US political figures that parrot these talking points are just useful idiots who decided that Russian propaganda websites will be their trusted sources for information, or are they more integrated in the disinformation campaign - potentially being funded themselves.
These US alt-right talking heads seem really, really, really stupid. As in too stupid that anyone intelligent would want to have a formal working relationship with them and a paper trail. So I assume they are all some form of useful idiot. But they're getting money from somewhere, and that then leads me to believe there is more to it...

Man... I was watching a whole bunch of WW2 docs a few months back and this looks like the German army in 1945 in the Soviet Union.....
Right...which is largely what I said at the very beginning, of all cultures that should know better than to start a land-war in Eastern Europe at this time of year the Russians should have known better.

Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow “will not allow” the transfer of S-300 air defence missile systems, following statements in Bratislava that the country would supply its own to Ukraine, as the country resists the attacks of the Russian aggressor for a fourth week.
He even said that any arms supply to Ukraine would be considered by Russia as a “legitimate target”.
In other news, Ukraine denies being the ones who sent the drone carrying a 120 KG bomb that hit Zagreb. The drone is Russian made and both sides have (or had) them in the past. The Russians obviously claim that it was a false flag by Ukraine claiming they don't use those types of drones any more.
Quote:
“I am in daily contact with my Croatian colleague, we are talking about that. We are investigating the incident, and I assure you we are not the ones who launched that drone towards Croatia. Croatia is our friend, and we would never do that,” Reznikov said.
On Thursday, Defence Minister Mario Banožić said that the drone that crashed last week in Zagreb had come from Ukrainian territory but the ongoing investigation would determine who had launched it, how and why.

Mud season is a well known thing in Ukraine. Anyone who has worked in NE BC or Northern Alberta during the spring thaw would have an idea of what the conditions can be like on ungroomed roads, especially after you get a few trucks on the access roads.
It's one reason why it seemed like a huge miscalculation to not block major roads and bridges in the weeks leading up to the invasion to force Russia off road. Then again, making them line-up on roads to stage their attack has some strategical advantage as well, so who am I to say.

Leaders who have started land wars in Russia.
-Napoleon
-Hitler
-Putin
What do they have in common? All power hungry with huge egos who believe the battles will end quickly and they couldn't possibly fail.
Let's hope this one ends like the other two.

I'd put Stalin on that list too.
Russia loves to play the victim card when referencing WWII, but they started wars of aggression against Poland, Finland, and Romania and were doing the exact same thing Hitler was doing.
